The BBC have now released details of the full line-up of shows across all their channels for Christmas Day, and we have the full details for you as well as a look at Aunty Beeb’s Christmas trailer and a brand new and bumper set of images from the Doctor Who Christmas special, The Snowmen!

Mark Gatiss is writing ‘50 years of Doctor Who’ drama & new Doctor Who Christmas special 2012 pictures!

Fans of Doctor Who will surely be delighted to hear that writer Mark Gatiss is penning a drama that will relay the show’s origins, its creation and the subsequent global success that the show has enjoyed for five decades.

Announcing the news on Twitter, Mark wrote, “‘One day, I shall come back’. Thrilled to announce I’m writing a long-cherished drama about the creation of Doctor Who!”

To be entitled, An Adventure in Space and Time, the drama will go all the way back to 1963 when the show was first conceived.

It seems that the 90-minute film will also reveal how the very first Time Lord, William Hartnell, became “A hero to millions of children.”
