Doctor Who head writer, Steven Moffat, has revealed that the Time Lord’s infamous Tardis will have a brand new look in time for this year’s Christmas special as it has had a huge interior make-over!
According to the creative genius, who is also responsible for BBC phenomenal success Sherlock, the modern-day twist on the legendary Sherlock Holmes novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, has confirmed that, whilst the outside of the legendary time travelling machine will remain as it is, the inside of it has undergone a complete revamp.

There’s great news from both the BBC and ITV today as not only has Aunty Beeb released new images and clips for the forthcoming Doctor Who Christmas special, but the corporation has also agreed with ITV to avoid the channels’ top festive offerings, Downton Abbey and Call the Midwife, from clashing in the Christmas Day schedules!
Starting with the new images and clips for Doctor Who’s ‘The Snowmen’ Christmas special, the first image released above shows a close-up of the scary snowmen, while others – which you can see after the jump – feature the episode’s villains and of course, Matt Smith and Jenna Louis Coleman as the Doctor and his new sidekick, Clara Oswin.

As is now a tradition, Doctor Who fans will get to see a sneak peek clip from this year’s DW Christmas special during the annual Children In Need telethon which airs tomorrow night on the BBC.
And ahead of it, the corporation has released the image above of Matt Smith – who of course plays the Time Lord – in a Victoriana velvet jacket, which will be one of his costumes for the Christmas episode.
And of course, it’s in the festive special – which will air on Christmas Day – that we get to properly meet new companion Clara Oswin, who’s played by former Emmerdale star, Jenna Louise Coleman.
