TV presenter Eamonn Holmes has revealed to the Sun that despite his chirpy and chipper façade for our telly screens, he’s in constant agony after a genetic “defect” has left him needing a double hip replacement.
And apparently, Eamonn has been delaying the necessary surgery for the last ten years, but now, the pain is so constant and so bad, he has no choice but to finally have his hips replaced.
He said, “I do have to have two hip replacements. I will keep going until they fall off and then I will get them done.”
He added, “I’m aware of the pain every day — it’s debilitating. If you dropped something on the floor now I couldn’t bend down to pick it up.
“I’m not going to get more flexibility as a result of the surgery but it might ease the pain…” Read more & comment »

As we reported yesterday, Eamonn Holmes sparked a flurry of furious complaints when he suggested that This Morning guest, Crystal Warren, should use the fact she has a “sex addiction” to monetary advantage by becoming a prostitute…
However, Crystal has today upstaged Eamonn and his gaffe by revealing that she used to be a man, and was born Christopher Snowdon.
And to be honest, when I saw the picture of Crystal yesterday, I did think ‘She looks like she used to be a bloke’ but obviously, in the spirit of not being a bitch, I didn’t say so in my post about the debacle… Read more & comment »

Yesterday, This Morning host Eamonn Holmes prompted an angry backlash from viewers when he suggested one of the guests on the show should become a prostitute.
Eamonn was interviewing self-proclaimed sex addict Crystal Warren, who told him that in her quest for nookie, she’d bedded over one hundred men, including one she’s picked up the night before the interview.
Crystal went on to say that because she spends so much time looking for – or having – sex, she can’t hold down a job.
So, the ever constructively helpful Eamonn said, “If you need this five or six times a day, have you never thought about making a business of it? Charging for it?” Read more & comment »

As speculation increases around a change of personnel at ITV’s Daybreak, Paddy Power has started taking bets on who could replace Christine Bleakley and Adrian Chiles.
Natasha Kaplinsky and Eamonn Holmes head the list, but there are some other interesting names in the frame, such as current BBC Breakfast presenters Sian Williams and Chris Hollins, who will not be following that show north to BBC Salford.

Eamonn said to Wilkes, “What are you, a retard?”
According to The Sun, Eamonn later said, “I have to say sorry to three or four of you who are upset because I used the word ‘retarded’… Read more & comment »

Following a string of jokes on The Impressions Show last week, all about Eamonn Holmes’ weight, the BBC have issued a public apology to the offended presenter.
Eamonn apparently sent a furious letter to the BBC after the show aired, and it was even speculated in the media that he may sue.
However, a BBC spokesperson said, “We guard the right to make a show that pokes fun at public figures and our aim was for the humour to be affectionate, celebrating the figures chosen.” Read more & comment »

It seems that veteran early morning presenter Eamonn Holmes and his new wife Ruth Langsford may be in talks with the BBC to present their Breakfast show when the show’s HQ relocates to Salford.
The Sun reports that as many of the current staff of the show have said they’ll quit if the move is made to Manchester from London, so speculation is rife that Holmes and Langsford may take over in leading roles on the show.
A BBC insider told the paper, “Eamonn loves breakfast TV and the biggest show in town is BBC Breakfast.”
The paper adds that Eamonn had hoped to front the new-look GMTV – which will be called Daybreak from later this year – but of course, Adrian Chiles landed the job. Read more & comment »

It seems that when Eamonn Holmes married his long-term girlfriend Ruth Langsford this week, he was livid that Christine Bleakley didn’t show up for his big day.
But asyou can see from the Daily Mail’s picture above, Eamonn didn’t let it ruin his big day.
However, the Mail reports that rather than attend Eamonn’s wedding, Christine flew out to join Frank Lampard in South Africa.
And a wedding guest told the paper that Eamonn was “spitting feathers” about the fact that Christine hadn’t even informed him she wouldn’t be attending. Read more & comment »

Penny Smith, who left GMTV on Friday, has been writing in the Daily Mail about her time on the show, and she revealed that “the most uncomfortable period” of her tenure on the show was when Anthea Turner and Eamonn Holmes fronted the show.
Penny wrote, “I don’t think I’m breaking any confidences when I say that possibly the most uncomfortable period of my time at GMTV was during the partnership of Eamonn and Anthea.
“There was no love lost between them and it was difficult not to get caught up in the politics… Read more & comment »

Could it be true? Is it too much to hope for? Rumours are circulating that part time This Morning presenters, Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langford, may be facing the axe.
Ruth has to be the most wooden presenter I have ever watched, with the exception of Kelly Brook of course. She and Eamonn may be married but in my view have none of Richard and Judy’s spark. Watching them is infinitely worse than watching paint dry.
