Eastenders actress, Tiana Benjamin, has revealed that she is still glad that she chose her role on the BBC One soap opera over a role in the Harry Potter films.
Tiana was hired to play Chelsea Fox on Eastenders in 2006 after she appeared as Angelina Johnson in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. She initially tried to juggle both jobs but as schedules became too demanding she chose her soap career over her movie one.
“The dates kept changing,” Tiana told the Sunday Mirror. “And EastEnders had to say in the end, ‘It’s us or them.’ I didn’t have to think too hard. I was very, very lucky to even cough in that film. But I’d grown up with EastEnders. I made the right choice.” Read More »

Eastenders actor, Aaron Sidwell, has backed the Beebs decision to axe his character, Steven Beale.
Steven entered the show last September and in his short time there has shot Jane, kidnapped Ian, shagged Stacey and snogged gay Christian. However show producers feel his character has now gone as far as it can go.
“They really did try to keep Steven in,” Aaron told the Daily Star Sunday. “The problem is EastEnders is a realistic show, so with Steven being a larger-than-life character it was always going to be hard having him doing the same crazy things day in, day out. Read More »

Eastenders actress, Cheryl Fergison has praised the BBC One soap for tackling the subject of ’sizeism’ when they cast her for the role of Heather Trott. She also revealed that she thinks its about time that other TV soaps did the same.
She told The Sun: “Hollyoaks is full of tiny blondes, but people like the fact Heather’s normal and we haven’t seen that for a long time in soaps.”
“A lot of big women and men get that attitude - it’s about how you deal with it.
“You have to portray it as long as you can redress the balance in some way at some point.
“That didn’t happen straight away and people said to me, ‘Oh my God, she’s just the fat person they take the mickey out of’.
“But it’s about taking away what Heather looks like, taking away the layers and finding out what she is like underneath. I think that’s what EastEnders is doing, and that’s a good thing.” Read More »
