Eastenders: Christian’s Gay Kiss Brings In Complaints

A gay kiss between EastEnders characters Christian and new boyfriend, Lee has sparked complaints from a number of viewers, according to the Daily Star.

Christian, played by John Partridge, snogged Lee, played by Carl Ferguson, on a bench in Albert Square. The pair offended Dot Cotton who told them off, but apparently some real life folks weren’t too happy with the sight either.

In a statement, the BBC stood by its decision to include the kiss.

“We approach our homosexual relationships in the same way as we do heterosexual relationships.

Eastenders: Rob Kazinsky Heartbroken By Baby Plot

Eastenders actor, Rob Kazinsky, has revealed how hard he found it whilst filming an upcoming storyline for the soap.

Rob plays Sean Slater on the show and soon he and on screen wife, Roxy Mitchell, face their biggest challenge yet when their baby is born prematurely and fighting for its life.

As part of their research, Rob and Rita (Roxy) visited a neonatal unit at Barnet hospital, north London.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Rob said: “We got shown round the wards.

Wendy Richards Discusses Eastenders Departure

Wendy Richards has revealed why she decided to leave BBC One soap, Eastenders in 2006. Wendy has admitted to being unhappy with her storylines and with the direction in which the writers were taking her character, Pauline Fowler.

“Pauline remarrying was wrong. Some women never remarry. My mother never remarried after Daddy died. I always had it in my heart that Arthur was Pauline’s husband and that was that,” she told the Daily Telegraph.

“I left because I wasn’t happy. Also, I couldn’t believe in what they wanted me to do and unless I can find some truth in what I am doing, I cannot play it.”

Janine Butcher Returns To Eastenders!

Janine Butcher is due to make a shocking return to Eastenders this Christmas wearing only a flimsy dress and bridal stockings under her coat!

A show source told The Sun: “Has Janine got married, is she fleeing a wedding? There’s an element of that — that’s all we can say.”

Although I always hated Janine as a person, I have to admit to being a big fan of the character. You need a good panto villian in every soap! I’m looking forward to Janine’s return…..are you?

Eastenders: Wendy Richards Dying Of Cancer

Ex-Eastenders actress Wendy Richard has spoken to the Daily Star about her heartbreak at being told she’s dying of cancer.

The star revealed that she’s written a will and has planned her funeral after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of the disease which has attacked her kidneys and spread to her bones.

The 65-year-old, who’s beaten breast cancer twice, is now going to marry her long-term partner John Burns next Friday, just three days before starting chemotherapy.

Eastenders: Kara Tointon Encourages Kids With Dyslexia

Eastenders actress, Kara Tointon has urged children suffering from dyslexia not to give up on their dreams, and says that if she can achieve hers then anything is possible!

The actress, who plays Dawn Swann on the BBC One soap opera, revealed that she suffers with the reading condition and often asks her sister Hannah, who stars in Hollyoaks to help her learn her lines.

She told The Sun: “There are so many actors who suffer from dyslexia and it’s important to know that it shouldn’t stop you just because you find it hard to read. I’m not the fastest in the class, I’m an awful reader, but learning lines is OK now. Read more & comment »

Eastenders actress, Rita Simons has admitted that she and on screen sister, Samantha Janus get on like a house on fire in real life and often talk to each other like real sisters.

Speaking to MSN at the Inside Soap Awards, where she won best newcomer, Rita said: “I love her. She is my big sister. I adore her - we’ve both got kids of the same age. We’ve got a lot in common. I love the way she acts. And she’s easy to work with.” Read more & comment »

Eastenders: Rita Simons Found Hospital Visits Hard!

Eastenders actress, Rita Simons, has revealed that she found it harrowing to visit special care baby units while researching her latest soap storyline.

Rita’s character, Roxy Mitchell, gives birth to her baby two months early and the tot will battle for its life this November.

Rita told The Sun: “It was pretty difficult. It’s always hard to see little premature babies and it was heartbreaking.

“I have got twins myself and because twins are always expected early I had exactly the same tour around hospital wards. It was really hard for me.” Read more & comment »
