Emmerdale actor, Matthew Wolfenden has confirmed that his soap character, David Metcalfe will engage in a secret affair with pretty barmaid Priya Sharma, and that his alter-ego will enjoy all the secret snogging sessions!

Fans of the hit ITV soap will know that David  is married to jail-bird Alicia (Natalie Anderson) in order to keep custody of her young son, Jake while she is inside.  However, the sham marriage hit a bump in the road when Alicia admitted to David before being sent down that she was actually in love with him, feelings that he doesn’t seem to reciprocate!

With the prospect of prison looking ever possible, Alicia Gallagher is getting desperate for the well-being of son Jake in Emmerdale, worried that if he goes to stay with his dad whilst she is away then she will lose custody of the young lad permanently, but David has a plan!

Whist her court date grows closer, Alicia (Natalie Anderson) starts making plans for her absence, and asks David (Matthew Wolfenden) if he would take care of Jake, which he agrees to do.

Jenna-Louise Coleman, the actress who played murdering lesbian Jasmine Thomas in ITV’s Emmerdale, may have had  her new Doctor Who character named as Clara!

According to fans of the iconic sci-fi show, they have heard Coleman’s character referred to as ‘Clara’ on the set of the new series, which is currently being filmed.

We reported last week how Emmerdale’s Alicia Gallagher will vent her fury at her secret Crush’s step-mum by means of a punch in the face (read original article here), leaving Val Pollard fuming, with a bloody nose, and phoning the police.

However, it would seem that, as funny as the scene will be to watch, it actually opens a huge can of worms for the Woolpack barmaid, as a well-kept secret leads her to serious trouble over the attack.

Jill Halfpenny, who is a soap veteran having starred in Coronation Street, Eastenders, Waterloo Road and Biker Grove, has admitted she is addicted to Emmerdale, now that her niece Chelsea plays feisty Amy on the show.

The actress, best known for her role in Eastenders as Phil Mitchell’s ex Kate, has confessed that she has become a fan of the show since her niece joined, and is really enjoying her performances.

Kelsey-Beth Crossley, who plays King sister, Scarlet Nichols, in ITV’s Emmerdale, has confirmed via social networking site, twitter, that she is leaving the soap.

Crossley, who has played the character since 2007, made reference on her page to an audition she had been to and was awaiting the verdict from, saying: “The most stressful part of auditions is waiting for a verdict! Ahh ha! X (sic).”
