Unreality TV wants to wish you all a Happy New Year as we look back at some of 2012′s highlights!

Well, that is another year over, and what a year 2012 has been!

Throughout the year Unreality TV have seen you though many memorable moments in the world of Prime Time TV, and have provided in depth and exclusive interviews and coverage to go with them.

Emmerdale: Cast will drink fake booze in tonight’s live show!

Tonight’s visit to Emmerdale is of course a very special one as it’s going to air live and be filmed entirely on location at the show’s set.

However, in the hour-long episode, though we’ll see the weddings of Katie Sugden (Sammy Winward) and Declan Macey (Jason Merrells) as well as the rushed nuptials of Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) the celebratory champagne we’ll see everyone drinking will be alcohol free!

That’s because the show’s bosses don’t want to risk the actors getting tipsy as they cope with nerves and remembering their lines.

TV Biz report that Matthew Wolfenden, who plays David Metcalfe, said, “I’m a guest at Katie and Declan’s wedding and there’s going to be a marquee stocked with champagne.

“I’d love it to be real booze, but it won’t be. In a live episode there’s no way they are going to give us real booze until after — not a chance.

“But I’m looking forward to having a big drink with the rest of the cast when it’s all over… Read more & comment »

Emmerdale At 40: The party begins today! But Nick Miles slams live show, saying, “We shouldn’t be doing it, I’m not impressed”

Fans of Emmerdale will of course know that the show’s landmark 40th anniversary celebrations begin today and continue all week ,with the jewel in the crown being the live broadcast on Wednesday…

We have all the details you’ll need to access special behind-the-scenes webcams on the big night – more on that shortly – but first, there’s at least one of the show’s stars who very much isn’t looking forward to the hour-long live episode!

Nick Miles, who plays the long-suffering gonk Jimmy King has told TV Biz that he’s dreading the live show.

He said, “I’m unenthusiastic about it. We shouldn’t be doing it. I’m not impressed.

“We seem to be doing it for the sake of it, because it’s become a soap tradition on an anniversary.

Emmerdale: See new live show promo & bosses announce special access all areas webcams!

As fans of Emmerdale will know, the show is airing its landmark hour-long episode on Wednesday, October 17th, and the show’s bosses have just released a new promo clip which features the stars of the soap talking about the live broadcast.

And also, it’s been revealed by ITV chiefs that fans can get unprecedented access to all areas of the set on the night of the live episode via “secret” cameras.

They can be viewed via the show’s official website on the night, and they’re also available on the ITV Player App on the iPhone or iPad.

The live episode will make history as it will be shot entirely on-location at the show’s base in Yorkshire.

Emmerdale At 40 – Who’s going to die during 2012 live episode? Here’s our theory!

Fans of Emmerdale will of course know that the soap is celebrating its 40th anniversary in a week of special episodes that being on October 15th…

And among those celebratory episodes is the hour-long live broadcast, which is making history for being the first of its ilk to air in its entirety on location at the show’s studios in Yorkshire.

During that landmark hour, we’ll be witness to the birth of two babies, a double wedding and of course, the murder of a “well loved” and “major” character, and here at Unreality Primetime, we have a theory as to who is going to breathe his/her last during that live episode…

Emmerdale boss says live episode is “a logistical and financial nightmare at every single level”

Emmerdale’s series producer Stuart Blackburn has been discussing the forthcoming landmark live episode – which airs on Wednesday, October 17th at 7pm – with BBC News, and he’s revealed that the organization of the hour-long broadcast has been “a logistical and financial nightmare at every single level.”

Blackburn has of course signed up award winning director Tony Prescott to oversee the live 40th anniversary episode, and the pair have had extensive discussions about planning for all eventualities with regard to what might go wrong during the live show.

But understandably one of their biggest worries is that the weather – which is not notoriously clement in October in Yorkshire – will scupper the live broadcast.

During the interview with the BBC, Blackburn revealed that at the moment, one of his biggest concerns is that there could be gale force winds on the night… Read more & comment »

Emmerdale: Jason Merrells Proclaim(er)s his joy at hosting Declan Macey’s music festival!

As fans of Emmerdale will doubtless know, as part of the show’s 40th anniversary celebrations, Home Farm owner Declan Macey will be seen staging a music festival which is his last ditch attempt to rescue his finances from the dire straits they’re currently in.

However, during the arranging of the Homefields festival, Declan has had to put up with his scheming and odious nephew Robbie (Jamie Shelton) in order to keep his sister Megan (Gaynor Faye) on-side, given that she’s the brains behind the festival…

But given that the festival is going to prove to be a huge success, we might therefore assume that after it, once all the money’s in the bank, Declan may be in a position to finally insist that Robbie, and possibly Megan, leave Home Farm.

We will of course keep you posted on any spoilers about the post-festival goings on, but for now, Jason Merrells who of course plays Declan has been talking to the Daily Star about the storyline.

Emmerdale stars to become Loose Women’s Divas of the Dales for anniversary week & Sian Reese-Williams and Rik Makarem talk baby Sharma’s birth

TV Guide reports that to celebrate Emmerdale’s landmark 40th anniversary, some of the soap’s female stars past and present will be headed to the Loose Women studios where they’ll feature in a special ‘Divas of the Dales’ week of shows.

Starting on Monday, October 1st, the special editions of Loose Women will feature actresses Claire King, Sheree Murphy, Gaynor Faye, Sian Reeves and Lorraine Chase, and it seems that all the actresses are thrilled about becoming temporary Loose Women!

Claire, who of course played village super-bitch Kim Tate – said, “I’ve enjoyed guesting on ‘Loose Women’ many times and I’m thrilled to be switching seats to join as a panellist for the day.

“It’s really exciting. Next week we’ve got all the behind-the-scenes gossip from ‘Emmerdale’ and I’ll be there to lend a hand! I can’t wait!” Read more & comment »

Emmerdale: First 40th anniversary trailer released as Adam Thomas teases murder storyline!

ITV has just released the first trailer for Emmerdale’s landmark 40th anniversary live episode, and we of course have it for you after the jump.

As you’ll see in the promo, many of the soap’s biggest characters feature in the teaser, including Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) as well as Jai and Charity Sharma – who’re played by Chris Bisson and Emma Atkins – and of course, soon to be newlyweds, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and Dan Spencer (Liam Fox).

Ahead of Emmerdale’s landmark 40th anniversary in October, the show’s bosses have been teasing us with all manner of hints about what’s going to happen in the live hour-long episode, as well releasing details of special spin-off shows.

We know there’s to be two weddings and a murder during the special anniversary shows, and so we thought we’d bring you a round up of the marriages and deaths that have happened in the village over the past four decades!

Emmerdale’s 40th anniversary shows to feature Emmerdale At 40 and Emmerdale Live: The Fallout!

Emmerdale is of course celebrating 40 years of broadcasting in October this year, and ITV have now released details of two special spin-off shows which will accompany the live episode of the soap.

The first, which is entitled Emmerdale At 40, is a five-part documentary series which will see the cast, past and present, telling the stories of some of the soap’s biggest plotlines.

Members of the production team will also contribute, revealing the secrets behind some of the show’s biggest stunts, such as the plane crash and the collapse of the pub’s chimney, which of course killed off Marlon Dingle’s wife Tricia, who was played by Sheree Murphy.

The stories told will encompass the characters – and cast of course – who’ve created headlines over the years, what with affairs, marriages, births, deaths and everything inbetween! Read more & comment »
