Hollyoaks Spoiler: Ste Hay has to choose, Doug Carter or Brendan Brady?

Hollyoaks fans all knew it was only a matter of time before Brendan Brady (Emmett J Scanalan) cottoned on to ex boyfriend, Ste Hay‘s (Keiron Richardson) new romance with business partner, Doug Carter (PJ Brennan), but I don’t think his reaction is what everyone would have been expecting.

Fans of the hit Channel4 soap will know how the money raised to secure the deposit for Dog and Ste’s new business, the Delli, came from Brendan without Ste’s knowledge, as a way to keep a hold of his former love.

Hollyoaks star Emmett J Scanlan talks moustaches!

As Brendan Brady, Emmett J Scanlan is often a scary figure, and his now trademark moustache only adds to his aura of dangerousness…

And while speaking to MSN at the recent V Festival, Emmett revealed more about his upper lip wear, saying, “It was a character choice. I asked if I could grow a ‘tache for this particular character.

“They went ahead with it, but I didn’t know it would get so much recognition.

“It gets recognised more than I do – it needs its own credit.

“I grew it for my dad. He had a brilliant 70s ‘tache when he got married and he looked very Magnum PI – I look very YMCA”.

But when asked if he would he ever shave it off, Emmett replied, “I would shave it off. Maybe for the next character or for charity…

“Or if they don’t need me for continuity in the show. I forget what my upper lip looks like, though!”

Well, he won’t be shaving it off just yet, and we’ll be seeing a lot of Brendan and that muzzy in forthcoming episodes as Brendan finds himself increasingly embroiled in evil Silas’s mind games! Read more & comment »
