News from Weatherfield way today includes Catherine Tyldesley’s fear that some “intimate” photographs that she sent to an ex-boyfriend may surface in the press or online, and on a happier note, co-stars Michelle Keegan and Brooke Vincent have become housemates.
But first, of Catherine’s worries – she of course plays sexy Eva Price – it seems that since she split with her boyfriend, she’s heard rumours that pictures she sent him are “doing the rounds”.
A friend of Catherine’s told the Mirror, “She’s terrified they could appear on Twitter or Facebook at any moment.
“And it goes without saying she will be absolutely furious if they do.
“The snaps were sent in confidence but it looks as though somebody is threatening to betray her trust, which is very upsetting and disappointing.
“There’s nothing she can do apart from cross her fingers and hope for the best.”
In the wake of the reconciliation between former Coronation Streethusband and wife, Leanne Barlow and Nick Tilsley, Ben Price, the actor who plays Nick has revealed his character is aware that Leanne does not actually love him.
The couple, who had been having an affair behind Peter’s (Chris Gascoyne) before he married Leanne (Jane Danson) during a death-bed ceremony after the tram crash, surprised everyone last week, none more so than Leanne’s half sister Eva (Catherine Tyldesley) who was still getting over a split from Nick herself, by resulting in Leanne and her step son, Simon, moving into Nick’s flat. As fans of Corrie will know, Carla Connor’s ex-jailbird – and generally apparently no good – brother Rob Donovan is headed to the cobbles…
He’s played by actor Marc Baylis, whose former TV credits include starring in My Uncle Silas, Sirens, The Bill, EastEnders, Doctors and Hollyoaks, and according to Catherine Tyldesley who plays Eva Price, her character and Rob are set to get “steamy” when an instant spark of chemistry ignites between them.
Of Rob – who we’ll see for the first time on July 9th – and Eva’s romance, Catherine said, “I don’t want to give away too much, but Rob is going to be the fresh meat on the Street.
Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley is – somewhat inexplicably, given she’s drop dead gorgeous – currently single, and it seems having had some “bad” experiences in the past with romantic entanglements, that suits her just fine right now.
However, in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mirror, Catherine revealed that men rarely ask her out on a date, and she suspects that may be because they’re “intimidated” by her larger-than-life Corrie character, Eva Price.
Catherine – who has of course also starred in Emmerdale – said, “When I’m out I never get approached, unless it’s by some drunken idiot…
“I get the occasional person who will talk to me and there has been some interest, but nothing outrageous. I certainly don’t get chatted up.
“Possibly men are intimidated by my screen character, I don’t know.”
She added, “I’ve been single for a while. I’ve been on a couple of dates, but it’s been quite a long time now…” Read more & comment »
As fans of Coronation Street will know, Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) ended his relationship with Eva Price a few weeks ago after she wrongly accused him of having cheated on her…
And once she realized her mistake – which was only after she’d ruined a high profile party at Nick’s bistro – she begged Nick to take her back, but he told her he couldn’t be with someone who doesn’t trust him.
In response, Eva has decided that making Nick jealous by dating Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) might make him change his mind.
However, it’s about to backfire on her rather spectacularly.
Catherine Tyldesley, who of course plays Eva, told Soaplife, “Eva’s absolutely devastated that Nick doesn’t want to be with her any more… Read more & comment »
As viewers of Corrie will know, Sunita Alahan and her lover Karl Munro have been sailing close to the wind as they conduct their affair, and have been very close to being caught on numerous occasions…
However, for the formerly staid and conservative Sunita (Shobna Gulati) that aspect is part of what makes it all so exciting, but trepidatious Karl (John Michie) is less hooked on the whole catch-us-if-you-can game.
And of course, now that Sunita has left Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and is currently staying at the Rovers – which is really rubbing it in, given it’s her host and boss Stella’s bloke she’s bonking – she’s on Karl like a rash and she tells him she wants them to be a proper couple…
However, Karl is primarily affected by the head that doesn’t sit on his shoulders, but when Stella’s (Michelle Collins) daughter Eva very nearly catches him and Sunita out, he decides he needs to call time on the pub based exploits. Read more & comment »

The cast of Coronation Street were out in force on the red carpet, hoping to bring home the majority of silverware for a second consecutive year at the prestigious awards ceremony.
Catherine Tyldesley – who formerly starred in Emmerdale as prison officer Abi Peterson – has revealed that she’s extended her Coronation Street contract, and will therefore be staying with the show, and her character, Eva Price, for at least another year.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Catherine said, “I’m having an incredible time. I’ve had my contract extended until next year and I’ve been told that Eva has got some very big things coming up.
“I’ve got a meeting next week where I will find out what they’ve got planned for her and I can’t wait.
“It’s all very exciting and I’m really looking forward to getting the next batch of scripts just so I can find out what happens to her… Read more & comment »
