Vernon Kay has accepted a guest star role in the last ever series of the BBC Comedy Extras.

Gameshow Marathon host Kay, will be joined in the episode by Gordon Ramsay, Jonathan Ross and ex-Eastenders, Dean Gaffney. Other celebrities starring in the series include John Travolta and George Michael.

Vernon will appear in a scene set in top London eaterie The Ivy, when Ricky Gervais’ character, Andy Millman, and his pal Maggie (Ashley Jensen) spy him having dinner.

Ricky Gervais has really hit the big time in America! One of the biggest comic actors at the moment, Will Ferrel, has expressed an interest in appearing in an episode of Ricky’s hit show, Extras.

Ferrell, 39, says, “I love Ricky. He is amazing. He hasn’t approached me to do Extras - at least not that I know of.

“I would do it if he asked.”

The Sun has revealed that Madonna has agreed to star in the series finale of Ricky Gervais hit BBC show, Extras.

Madonna and Ricky have been trying to collaborate in this way sionce they met at Live8 in 2005, but Madonna’s tour commitments meant that she couldn’t appear on the last series.

Ricky is said to be keen for for her to be his character Andy Millman’s nemesis.

David Bowie, Robert De Niro and Chris Martin are also rumoured to have signed up for the show.
