On the 9th August 1969, four members of the Manson ‘family’ – and for ‘family’, read ‘deluded nutters’ – were sent by Manson to the home of the heavily pregnant Sharon Tate, wife of Roman Polanski.
We all know what happened next; the ‘family’ members murdered Tate and her four friends, then daubed the word ‘PIG’ on the walls of her home in human blood. But what we’ve never heard before is the personal testimony of Linda Kasabian, who acted as lookout that fateful night.
Nick Godwin, Executive Producer of the company who made this documentary, had a team of people working for months to track Linda down – and yes, rock band Kasabian did name themselves after her – so that he could produce this film. Read more & comment »
Dominic Monaghan has been confirmed for ABC’s new drama series FlashForward.
The revelation was made this week at Comic-Con, when the show’s producer David S. Groyer initially refused to confirm or deny rumours surrounding Monaghan’s casting.
However just minutes later fans were treated to a sneak preview of the series, in the clip the Lost actor featured as a character named Simon.
Is anyone else wishing they had tickets to Comic Con?

I was eagerly anticipating this show on Five last night; I love Simon Cowell and have had a crush/major attraction on/to him for years, yes, even through the 80s when his trademark V necks and high waisted pants were in fact fashionable, but this was one of THE dullest presentations of a TV biography that I’ve ever, ever seen.
It had the makings of a fascinating show about this giant of the popworld, what with contributions from his mum Julie, his brother Nicholas, old teachers, his well-known acts and so on, but all without exception contributed to an exceptionally tedious show… Read more & comment »
Former Home and Away star Debra Lawrence returns to the show as Pippa Fletcher next week, in a one off guest appearance.Talking about her return she admitted that she misses the more family orientated storylines of the shows yester year.
“I do get a little bit nostalgic,” she said. “I miss the old, simpler and more family-orientated storylines. Things have certainly changed since I started back in the ’90s! There’s a little bit more violence and there’s definitely more alcohol being drunk now than when I was there!”
Without doubt, EastEnders is going to be well worth watching next week as the fallout over Archie’s treachery and Danielle’s death continues to haunt the Square. But what else is worth watching? Let’s have a squiz… Read more & comment »
Here’s what we recommend you tune into this week, with two of the most major events happening in Coronation Street and EastEnders where there’s a fire and fireworks respectively this week!

Tonight: How Safe is Your Hospital? is on at 8:00pm on ITV1 during which Morland Sanders looks at recent hospital scandals, including Stafford Hospital – where up to 1200 people may have died unnecessarily – and Birmingham Children’s Hospital where a lack of equipment and trained staff has put patients lives at risk, and asks why regulators failed to recognise the problems earlier… Read more & comment »
Noel Edmonds is said to have pulled his popular TV show ‘Noel’s HQ’ from Sky One after channel bosses refused to let him present it live.
Noel’s series campaigns on issues hitting ordinary people and Noel has already negotiated a deal with TV channel Five which will see the series air live there.
A Sky spokesman told The Sun: “Sky1 and Noel Edmonds have mutually agreed not to proceed with a second series.”
Well, this new cop show on Five has me baffled; I want to dislike it because it’s clichéd, it’s predictable, the acting is horrifically overdone and it’s kind of a rip-off of several other shows, but nonetheless, the rather studly Simon Baker who plays The Mentalist, Patrick Jane, brings something to the show that I can’t quite put my finger on and the fact is, I still want to watch it next week but I’m not sure why I do…
In a nutshell, Patrick used to make a very good living as a fake psychic but he’s stopped doing that now and uses his talent for “observing” people to help the California Bureau of Investigation solve crimes. The overall impression is that the CBI use him as a consultant because he gets results, but only reluctantly… he’s too ‘slippery’ for their liking but they can’t deny he’s brilliant at what he does.
That said, his lady boss clearly has a ‘thing’ for him – and I don’t blame her; he’s pretty – but of course, she’d sooner cut her own arm off than tell him so… which is just one of the many clichés in the show. Read more & comment »

Oh and don’t forget, there’s no episode of Lost tonight. It’s not on until next Sunday… don’t know how I’m going to cope without my Lost-Sunday-Fix but I suppose I’ll just have to… Read more & comment »
Actually, I already know the answer in part because I was forced to watch it last night when my husband insisted upon it. He loves fishing, not that he ever catches anything but nonetheless, he loves it. And as he rarely gets bleeper control, I felt it was probably about time I made an exception and let him… besides, I’d had a few glasses of wine so I didn’t really care, but truly, what is it that anyone finds interesting about watching someone else fish??
I can barely comprehend why anyone likes fishing when they’re actually doing it themselves, but to watch someone else?? I don’t get it. I hate to be sexist – and I’m sure there are millions of lady anglers out there – but maybe it’s partly a ‘chick thing’. The same ‘chick thing’ that means I can’t stand football, but there again, my daughter loves it. Ditto Grand Prix and cricket… she watches them all, and snooker too… Read more & comment »

A brand new series of the fabulous Monkey Life starts at 6:30pm on Five. The series follows the residents – both human and primate – of Dorset’s Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre. In this episode, 88 capuchin monkeys rescued from a research laboratory in Chile wake up to their first morning at Monkey World.
Over in the Chimp nursery, Rodders has a run-in with a sticky melon and the park’s naughtiest resident, Seamus the chimp, comes face to face with alpha male Butch in the bachelor pad… Read more & comment »
As you’ve probably heard, the Chief of ITV, Michael Grade, announced yesterday that more than 600 jobs would be cut across the ITV owned network and group of companies. He also announced that following a 41% drop in revenue from advertising, the company had to make radical cutbacks.
Mr Grade was quoted in The Sun yesterday as saying, “Current conditions in the advertising market are the most challenging I have experienced in over 30 years in UK broadcasting.
“This is reflected both in our financial results for 2008 and the tough actions we are announcing today”.
Apparently a large part of ITV’s planned savings will be via cuts to its £1 billion programming budget, which will be reduced by £65 million during this year… Read more & comment »
