FlashForward’s executive producer David Goyer has revealed that we will meet a host of new characters later in the first season.
Goyer confirmed that the Somalian boy we saw in episode three will return as an adult.
“We have already written that character as an adult,” he told MTV news. “We’re hoping to have a certain actor play him. We haven’t nailed it down yet, but we’re crossing our fingers.”
Mark abandons his romantic getaway with Olivia when he receives a tip-off concerning the tattooed assassin who appeared in his flash forward. Elsewhere, Simon and Lloyd settle a debate over a game of poker, Aaron learns the truth regarding daughter Tracy’s accident, and Janis returns to work, but is unsure about her future with the department.
MI6 agent Fiona Banks helps the detectives investigate the Blue Hand Club, which could have appeared in Mark’s vision and might be connected to a recent spate of suicides. Nicole helps Bryce uncover the meaning of his flash forward while volunteering at a hospital, Aaron receives a surprise visit from his daughter’s former army friend and Demetri reveals the truth about his lack of a blackout to Zoey. Guest starring Alex Kingston

Wedeck and the team tries to find a link between Janis’s attack and a separate quarrel as Hallowe’en approaches, and Olivia confronts her husband about his vision. Lloyd’s son Dylan disappears from the hospital, and Simon makes contact with a reluctant acquaintance. Elsewhere, Demetri and Gough track down a potential clue that Mark saw in his flash forward.
Flashforward Co-showrunner/Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim has left the show according to reports.
The Hollywood Reporter states that co-creator/exec producer David Goyer will take over the role on a solo basis. Guggenheim was brought on to assist Goyer who had limited TV experience for the first 12 episodes of the show. Goyer will complete the nine episode back order alone.
I’m so disappointed in this show. It was so hyped, so well promoted, and it had the success of Lost as a blueprint, and it’s been a total let down.
Episode one was brilliant, but we’re now on episode three and it’s going downhill exponentially. Last night’s episode largely centred around a Herr Schultz who entered into a “game of chicken” with Agent Benford, promising that he had information that could provide the answers to the big question, ‘why’.
It turned out he was just a really good poker player, but there was initially the promise of something Lost-esque in Schultz’s insistence that the 137 Sekunden – seconds, as in the total amount of blackout time – of the episode’s title were important to the whole shebang. Read more & comment »
Olivia struggles to accept Bryce’s suggestion that a patient’s flashforward holds the key to a correct diagnosis and treatment. Meanwhile, Demetri accuses Mark of waiting for the future he saw in his flashforward to come true without incident, while Mark feels Demetri is letting his fear of what he witnessed envelop his life; and Nicole returns to work as Mark and Olivia’s daughter’s baby-sitter, and discloses her shocking future vision — involving a murder.
Mark and Janis travel to Germany to speak with an imprisoned Nazi who claims to have knowledge about the blackouts, and an anonymous tip leads Demetri to believe his deepest fears about his future. Meanwhile, Aaron pleads with Mark to help him get the approval to have his daughter’s body exhumed in order to re-test her DNA and confirm the identity of the remains.
I have to say, I was more than a tad disappointed with last night’s second episode of FlashForward. Last week, it ticked all the boxes; mystery, strange global phenomenon, Easter Eggs from Lost, and dozens of intriguing questions were raised.
And from the makers of Lost, I’d expect nothing less than excellence, and unfortunately, FlashForward’s offering last night, White To Play, caused the show to lose a good deal of its credibility for me.
For instance, in one scene, we saw our heroes waiting for a mysterious person who’d stolen the identity of a Miss Gibbons. This was the D.E. Gibbons who appeared on a post-it note on Mark’s much flash-forwarded board… Read more & comment »
Mark and Demetri head to Utah to track down a suspect who may be connected to the global blackout, Olivia comes face-to-face with the man from her vision, and Mark and Olivia’s daughter, Charlie, has trouble coping with the aftermath of her flashforward.
As regular Primetime readers will know, I’m an absolute Lost addict, so when I heard this show was being hailed as the “new Lost”, I knew I’d be hooked. And I am.
After just one episode, which bore more than a few resemblances to Lost – and contained enough Easter Eggs to have us Lost theorists going bonkers, such as a billboard advertising Oceanic Airlines – I just know I won’t be able to miss a single episode, no matter what.
And as with Lost, there was the weird placement of an animal in a setting where one wouldn’t expect to find it. With Lost, it was a polar bear, with FlashForward, it was a kangaroo hopping about in LA… Read more & comment »
