Paul O’Grady slams celebrity sex abuse claims, calling it a “circus”

In light of the recent trend of celebrities being named, arrested or questioned on suspicion of historic sexual abuse, TV presenter Paul O’Grady has offered his opinion on the matter.

Alleged victims of these crimes started to come forward after an ITV Exposure documentary suggesting that former Top Of The Pops presenter, Jimmy Savile, had abused a string of underage girls during the three decades he was in the public spotlight.

Police investigating the Jimmy Savile scandal question ‘mystery man’ in his 80′s!

Whilst Scotland Yard continues its investigation into the paedophilic behaviour of the late TV presenter, Jimmy Savile, and others linked to his crimes, another un-named man in his 80′s has been brought in and questioned.

Right from the start of the current Jimmy Savile scandal that hit us a few months ago, other celebrity names have been linked to the late TV presenter, and his paedophilic behaviour, in particular Gary Glitter and Freddie Starr, and most recently it saw the arrest of radio legend, DJ Dave Lee Travis, in connection with the late TV presenter.

Another man in his 70′s has been arrested in connection with the Jimmy Savile investigation, operation Yewtree!

Right from the start of the current Jimmy Savile scandal that hit us a few weeks ago, other celebrity names have been linked to the late TV presenter, and his paedophilic behaviour, in particular Gary Glitter and Freddie Starr, and now police have arrested an unnamed man in his 70′s as part of Operation Yewtree.

Scotland Yard officers in charge of the on-going investigation had warned that every person whose name they have been given, famous or otherwise, throughout the 400 lines of enquiry currently open, would be sought after and interrogated.

Could this be Jimmy Savile’s youngest victim as woman tells of abuse when she was 8!

Another victim has come forward claiming that she was abused by Jimmy Savile during his alleged 5 decade span of abusing children, and that it happened when she was an eight year old hospital patient at the time, the Sun newspaper reports.

If this allegation is true, this makes this woman, who claims she was abused in 1986, Savile’s youngest victim so far.

Gary Glitter (Paul Gadd) released on bail after being quizzed by police for 10 hours as part of Jimmy Savile inquiry

Yesterday, we reported that convicted paedophile Gary Glitter – whose real name is Paul Gadd – had been arrested in an early morning raid on his home in London…

He was taken to Charing Cross police station where he was quizzed for ten hours by officers who’re working on Operation Yewtree, which encompasses allegations of child sex abuse against the late TV presenter Sir Jimmy Savile and “others.”

Of Gadd’s arrest, a Scotland Yard spokesman said, “Officers working on Operation Yewtree have today arrested a man in his 60s in connection with the investigation.

“The man, from London, was arrested at approximately 7.15am on suspicion of sexual offences, and has been taken into custody at a London police station.

“The individual falls under the strand of the investigation we have termed ‘Savile and others’.” Read more & comment »

BREAKING NEWS: Paedophile Gary Glitter aka Paul Gadd HAS been arrested as part of Jimmy Savile inquiry, Operation Yewtree!

Convicted paeodphile Gary Glitter – who real name is Paul Gadd – has been arrested in London in connection with police inquiries into allegations of child sex abuse which have arisen amid the Sir Jimmy Savile scandal.

And just this morning, we reported that a friend of TV presenter Denise Van Outen – who’s currently taking part in Strictly Come Dancing – claimed that Gadd had “groomed” Denise for abuse when she was a teenager.

Of Gadd’s arrest, a Scotland Yard spokesman said, “Officers working on Operation Yewtree have today arrested a man in his 60s in connection with the investigation.

Freddie Starr says he will talk to police over his involvement in Jimmy Savile abuse claims!

Right from the start of the current Jimmy Savile scandal that hit us a few weeks ago, other celebrity names have been linked to the late TV presenter, and his paedophilic behaviour, in particular Gary Glitter and Freddie Starr.

Gary Glitter was convicted in 1999 for possession of child pornography in the United Kingdom, then in 2006, a court in Vietnam found him guilty of committing obscene acts with minors, but no similar charges, or rumours, up until this point, had ever come out about Freddie.

Police to quiz showbiz pals of Jimmy Savile, including Gary Glitter, over sex abuse claims

The horror of the revelations about Sir Jimmy Savile, and the allegations of sexual abuse made against him, have intensified today with a report that police are intending to question his associates – which include a number of celebrities – in connection with the allegations.

As we reported yesterday, one woman who claims Savile molested her also made accusations against comedian Freddie Starr, and others have alleged that convicted paedophile Gary Glitter – whose real name is Paul Gadd – abused them in Savile’s company.

The Metropolitan police are investigating several allegations of rape and child abuse which date about decades, but a senior officer revealed that the investigation was on a “national scale.”

Commander Peter Spindler, who’s head of Specialist Crime Investigations at Scotland Yard, added, “It’s quite clear from what women are telling us that Savile was a predatory sex offender.” Read more & comment »

Top of the Pops to become a stage show, but will Gary Glitter be involved?!

It’s been revealed today that iconic show Top of the Pops is to be resurrected in the form of a stage show, some six years since it was axed by the BBC.

TOTP was of course a staple of the nation’s TV diet in the seventies, and the team who are behind recreating the magic for the stage have claimed the show will be “a nostalgic interactive jukebox”, will is set to feature singers, dancers, a live band and archive footage.

The Sun’s TV Biz reports, “The show, produced by the team behind the Michael Jackson musical Thriller – Live, opens in Eastbourne in October before a UK tour which includes performances in Birmingham, Liverpool, Glasgow and Edinburgh.”

The stage show’s director and choreographer, Gary Lloyd, said of it, “As a charts follower, Top Of The Pops was the highlight of my week, I think this is a dream show to work on.

“I am looking forward to getting it out there to all those people who did the same and taking them on a rockin’ journey down memory lane.” Read more & comment »
