Gary Lucy is returning to Eastenders this year it has been revealed, after he managed to impress bosses during a number of guest appearances recently.
The Footballers Wives star joined the BBC soap for a number of episodes back in 2012, when he took on the role of suave City banker Danny Pennant, who swept gorgeous Syed off his feet.
We reported last week that Marc Elliott, who plays Syed Masood in the hit BBC soap, EastEnders, has commented that there was much more storyline to come for his character’s new love interest, Danny Pennant (Gary Lucy), and it would seem he wasn’t wrong!
Elliott, who is due to leave the soap by the end of this year, said in the interview that Danny was hell-bent on revenge for being messed around, emotionally and financially, by the eldest Masood brother.

EastEnders star Marc Elliott, has revealed the reason behind his decision to quit the award-winning BBC1 soap was for fear for being remembered as, and stereotyped for future roles, as just a gay Muslim.
Marc, who joined the cast of EastEnders as the confused eldest Masood son, Syed, back in 2009, has just filmed his final scenes for the show, which will air next month.

As we saw in last night’s episode of EastEnders, the financially troubled groom-to-be Syed Masood handed over his mother’s savings – unbeknownst to her – to city banker Danny Pennant (Gary Lucy) in the hope that he can double the money and get Syed (Marc Elliott) out of the doo doo…
We also saw that poor Alice Branning (Jasmyn Banks) was mugged outside the Vic, for which her dad Derek (Jamie Foreman) blamed Tanya Branning (Jo Joyner) because she had given Alice a makeover, which evidently Derek thought brought her to the attention of the mugger. More on that in a moment…

Fans of EastEnders will know how ex Bill and Hollyoaks actor, Gary Lucy, is set to make his Walford debut in tonight’s 7.30pm episode.
Gary, who has also appeared in Footballers wives along with former EastEnders actress, Zoe Lucker, is playing Danny Pennant, a city banker, who arrives in the square as a shoulder to cry on for troubled Syed Masood (Marc Elliott).

As fans of EastEnders will most likely know, former Footballers’ Wives star Gary Lucy has joined the cast of the BBC1 soap in the role of city banker Danny Pennant…
And we’re set to meet him for the first time this week as Danny and some of his work colleagues go for a meal at Walford’s, Argee Bhajee which is where Danny will meet Syed for the first time.
It has of course been revealed that Danny and Syed (Marc Elliott) will feel “an instant attraction” and it’s been rumoured that Danny could be the reason that Syed and his gay partner Christian (John Partridge) decide to leave Walford for good later this year.
However, in today’s TV Biz, Gary has revealed – bless him – that he was so nervous about filming his first kiss with a man that he couldn’t sleep the night before the shoot!

In forthcoming episodes of EastEnders, we’re going to meet newcomer Danny Pennant, who’s set to have what Gary Lucy – who plays Danny – describes as an “instant” chemistry with Syed Masood.
And of course, given that Syed (Marc Elliott) and his lover Christian Clarke (John Partridge) are set to leave Walford later this year, it’s been speculated that their decision to leave Albert Square has something to do with city banker Danny.
Gary has been talking to Inside Soap about his new role, and about the possibility of a romance between Danny and Syed, who are set to first meet at the Argee Bhajee where Syed will reveal his financial woes to the newbie.
Gary said, “Syed doesn’t tell him straight away that he has a fiancé – I think that if he had, Danny would have left it there.

Our first snippet of EastEnders gossip today is that it seems Syed Masood could be about to fall for newcomer Danny Pennant – who’s played by Gary Lucy – after the city whiz kid makes Syed a tempting offer…
Things for Syed have of course been going awry ever since his shipment of Olympics souvenirs went astray, leaving him with boxes of worthless goods, given that they arrived too late for him to flog the stuff to tourists.
Since then, having made a deal with Janine (Charlie Brooks) to sell her what seems to be a lifetime’s supply of cleaning products, Syed found Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd) entirely unsympathetic to his plight – because of course, Janine has done a runner – and as we saw last night, he refused to honour Janine’s agreement.

A show insider told the paper, “All the girls think he’s a real ladies’ man.
“But they’re soon disappointed when it turns out he’s not interested in women.

And according to The Sun’s TV Biz, Danny – who’s a city banker – is set to cause “big trouble” on the Square, though what brings him to Walford hasn’t as yet been revealed.
It’s also not known which, if any, of the show’s established characters that Danny will be interacting with, however, as Danny is said to “ooze sex appeal” and has a “compelling charisma” we might assume he’s linked to a Walford lady.

Gary Lucy has become a father again.
The former Hollyoaks star already has a five year old daughter named India and today he and his girlfriend Natasha Grey welcomed a new baby boy into the world.
Natasha gave birth to a baby boy this morning (19.04.11), and the couple have named him Elvis.
Posting on his twitter account, the former ‘The Bill’ star – who already has a five-year-old daughter India with Natasha – kept fans up to date with the progress of the birth.
Actor Gary Lucy, best known for roles such as DS Will Fletcher in ITV’s The Bill, Kylie Pascoe in Footballers wives and more recently who came second in 2010′s Dancing On Ice, has announced that his partner has given birth to a little boy this morning.
Keeping fans updated via social networking site, Twitter, Gary announced the birth one hour ago, after announcing that his partner was in labour 6 hours before.
Lucy, who is in a long term relationship with partner, paediatric nurse Natasha Gray, has a daughter with Gray, Indiana Jasmine, who was born at the couples house on On 30 August 2005.
According to Digital Sky’s rumour mill, Gary Lucy is set to join the show as one of Michael Moon’s brothers.
It has yet to be confirmed by the bosses at the BBC, but according to sources the character will be introduced in the next week or so.
Lucy has previously appeared in Footballers wives as footballer Kyle Pascoe, in ITV’s The Bill as DS Will Fletcher and in channel 4’s Hollyoaks as Luke Morgan.
