Sam Aston has opened up about his characters reaction when he discovers his girlfriend has been cheating on him in an upcoming Coronation Street storyline.

Fans of the award-winning soap will know how Sam’s character, Chesney Battersby-Brown, is currently oblivious to the fact that his fiancée, Katy Armstrong (Georgia-May Foote) is having an affair with her co-worker, Ryan Connor (Sol Heras).

Fans of Coronation Street will surely know that young Katy Armstrong is about to embark on a fling with bad lad Ryan Connor (Sol Heras) which is inevitably going to end in tears when her soon to be fiancé – unless he calls the engagement off before it’s begun – Chesney finds out…

However, in an interview with the Radio Times, Georgia May Foote, who plays teen mum Katy, has revealed that her character’s dalliance with Ryan is based on lust, not love.

When asked if Katy’s fallen out of love with Chesney (Sam Aston) or if their relationship has gone stale, Georgia said, “I think she’d been plodding along as usual until she went out with her friends.

The Sun reports on the shocking plotline today, stating, “Actress Georgia May Foote, who plays young mum Katy, was snapped filming scenes on location with Sol Heras, Coronation Street bad boy Ryan Connor.”

The paper adds that Katy and Ryan will share a kiss after the van they’re in breaks down. Coronation Street star Cherylee Houston is currently involved in one of the most heart-wrenching storylines her character, Izzy Armstrong, has endured throughout her short time on the cobbles of Coronation Street, all the while hiding her heartbreak from the tragedy of losing her father in real life.

Cherylee, who joined the cast of Corrie in 2010, phoned bosses at the award-winning ITV soap in tears on September 6th to tell them that her father, Bill Houston, had lost what had been a long battle with cancer, according to the Sun newspaper.

However, eagle eyed viewers spotted what may have been either a prank on behalf of the props folks, or an editorial gaffe, in as much as the magazine was apparently called, “S**t Chat.”

Corrie star Georgia May Foote has revealed today why it is that her character Katy Armstrong offers to have a baby for her disabled sister Izzy (Cherylee Houston) who of course suffered a miscarriage recently.

As fans will know, after the harrowing loss of her baby, Izzy told her boyfriend Gary (Mikey North) that she couldn’t put herself through another pregnancy, which of course devastated him, but he vowed to stand by her and her decision.

However, Izzy’s sister Katy knows how much she wants a child, and will make her the offer of becoming a surrogate mother.

Georgia began explaining Katy’s motivation for doing so by saying, “Katy can see that Izzy and Gary are suffering, so she just wants to help.

Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote has been talking to the Daily Star about her life on the nation’s most famous Street, and her teenaged character, Katy Armstrong.

Although Georgia’s 21, Katy is only 16, and the actress revealed later on in the interview that she’s asked for her ID when buying booze, and even kitchen knives!

But first, of playing the role of Katy alongside Sam Aston who plays her boyfriend Chesney, Georgia said, “We’ve had some really amazing storylines this year and the show has stuck to its roots all this time. I’m so proud to be part of it.”

However, Georgia revealed that portraying Katy’s pregnancy was hard work, and it’s put her off wanting kids of her own just yet.

She said, “The pregnancy went on for such a long time and I just wanted Katy to have the baby because I hated wearing the big bump!

“It was doing my head in because it was so heavy and would really dig in. It’s put me off having kids for a while!

“I will definitely wait till I’m at least 30. It didn’t make me broody at all, probably the opposite.

“But the babies we have playing the part are very cute. They are twins called Ronnie and Tommy. They are lovely…” Read more & comment »

Corrie’s newest mum, teenager Katy Armstrong, is set to put the life of her Christmas baby Joseph at risk when she leaves the infant home alone…

Georgia May Foote, who of course plays Katy, revealed the new storyline during an interview with What’s On TV.

She explained that, feeling isolated, tired and stressed, Katy has to run an urgent errand, but as Joseph is asleep for the first time in hours, she doesn’t want to wake him.

Georgia said, “The rent’s due, she has to get to the bank and Joseph has just fallen asleep for the first time all day.

What’s On TV report today that Corrie star Simon Gregson has vowed to go and watch his former co-star Katherine Kelly – who of course recently left the show and her role as Becky McDonald – in her theatre production of She Stoops To Conquer.

The play is being performed at the National Theatre in London, however, it seems the gesture is quite the sacrifice for Simon – who plays Steve McDonald – as he “hates” theatre.

He said, “I guess I’ll see it. I’m not a big fan of the theatre. One of the Corrie directors called me an anti-thespian and I think he’s probably right.

“I’ll go down and support my friends. I don’t know if I’ll be able to sit through the whole thing though.

“I just don’t like being in theatres. She’s a proper actress through and through, whereas I’m the complete opposite.

First, she explained that her character takes over from Faye Windass (Ellie Leach) in the local nativity play as the little girl gets stage fright.

So, in the role of the Virgin Mary, the audience are amazed at how realistic Katy’s portrayal of the Holy Mother’s labour is…

Until of course everyone realizes that Katy IS actually in labour! And in the best tradition of soapy births, baby Joseph doesn’t hang around waiting for an ambulance and makes his world debut right there on stage, with Anna Windass (Debbie Rush) acting as midwife. Read more & comment »

Corrie star Georgia May Foote, who of course plays pregnant teen Katy Armstrong, has been telling Inside Soap that in the best tradition of Christmas soapy pregnancies, her character’s labour on Christmas Eve will be so sudden that her neighbour Anna Windass has to deliver her baby.

The drama begins when Katy starts getting contractions in the middle of a nativity play, and Anna, who is of course played by Debbie Rush, soon realizes that little Baby Brown isn’t about to wait around for an ambulance…

So in the stage-set stable, baby Joseph is born, to the delight of his young mum, who was playing the role of Mary.
