Fiona Phillips Was ‘Pretty Silly’ To Give Up GMTV

fiona-phillips

Fiona Phillips has conceded that it may have been a ’silly’ decision to give up her role on ITV’s GMTV.

Phillips left the show last December hoping to spend more time with her family and pursue new projects, however due to the credit crunch, Phillips has been finding hard to obtain any TV work.

Speaking to the Daily Express, she explained: “It was a pretty silly time to give up a big job. In one week I lost two programmes lined up for April and May and a Channel 4 teatime show in June, all because of money. There aren’t many people commissioning things. If I’d been paid for every meeting I’d been in, I’d be a multi-millionaire.”

Michael Jackson’s biographer cals him a “compulsive liar”

michael-jackson

Michael Jackson’s unofficial biographer, Ian Halperin, called the singer a “compulsive liar” this morning – and warned the UK he might not show up for his comeback gigs in London.

Speaking to GMTV’s Emma Crosby, Ian said: “First of all I want to warn your viewers Emma that I spent five years working on this book – employed six full-time researchers, and I want to warn the people of the UK – don’t be fooled. You’re all buying into it right now, but people in Michael’s camp, family members have told me he’s a compulsive liar, perhaps a pathological liar. And I’m just warning you all, all the hype has began, tickets could sell as much as £15,000 for the first few row seats. But will he show up, who knows? He is not in the greatest physical health even though he passed medical exams that say he can perform. It doesn’t mean he’s 100 per cent fit. He definitely has medical ailments, and I’m just putting you all on warning – this hasn’t played out yet to its fullest. And I’m still going to keep a close eye and an attentive look because I’m not convinced it’s going to go down as everyone watching this show thinks today.”

Kate Garraway Pregnant Again!

kate-garraway

GMTV host, Kate Garraway is pregnant for the second time.

“We’re over the moon to be having another baby and Darcey is very excited about having a new brother or sister to play with,” Garraway told The Sun.

“We all can’t wait for the summer arrival.”

Two things about this news stand out for me. Firstly, the fact that she is pregnant will mean that Kate has to take maternity leave, meaning that I can watch GMTV again. Secondly, now that she will have a real life baby of her own, she can stop breastfeeding cows for a while, I’m sure the cattle population will be pleased.

Fiona Phillips Quit GMTV Amid Dementia Fears

Fiona Phillips has revealed that her decision to quit the GMTV sofa was partly due to a fear of developing dementia at an early age.

Fiona Philips Says ‘Kate Garraway Is Pleased I’m Leaving’

Fiona Philips announced last week that she is leaving GMTV after 15 years of hosting the show. Last night she spoke honestly about her co-worker, kate Garraway, and claimed she would be glad to see her gone.

Kate failed to get in touch with Fiona after she announced her decision to leave, a move which obviously offended Philips.

“She is probably quite pleased that I am going. I have the top job. It wouldn’t be natural and she’d be lying if she said she didn’t want it,” Phillips told the Daily Mail. “It doesn’t annoy me that I haven’t heard from her. Nor am I basing any of my decisions on how she feels.”

Fiona Phillips Quits GMTV

Fiona Phillips is quitting ITV breakfast show GMTV after 15 years of service.

Philips revealed how hard the break would be for her saying it was:

“the hardest decision I have ever made”, adding: “I love the job.”

“I’ve got other responsibilities. The children, a home life and an elderly dad who needs me – and I’ve recognised that I can’t have it all,” she said.

GMTV’s director of programming Peter McHugh said she would be “sorely missed”.

He added: “But after all those years of getting up at 4am we can understand why she wants a change.

“Her honesty and openness have helped make GMTV the success it is. She is a tough act to follow.

“But she’s not going until Christmas which gives us plenty of opportunity to organise lots of leaving dos.”

However it won’t be the last time that we’ll see Fiona on the box. Her agent assured:

“Fiona is leaving GMTV but she is not leaving television,”
