Gossip Girl is due to hit ITV2 again next January and we have got a few spoilers for you on the hot new series.

The first episodes of the season mostly take place in The Hamptons, where Chuck, Serena, Eric and Nate are holidaying. Blair, Dan and Jenny eventually follow the rest of the crowd just in time to add to the drama and scandal that is already occurring.

More worrying during the new season is the hint of flirting between Rufus and Dan’s pal Vanessa in the first few episodes. I mean isn’t she young enough to be his daughter.

Gossip Girl actress, Blake Lively has promised that series two of the show will be ‘juicy.’

Last season saw Lively’s character, Serena van der Woodsen, get dumped by her boyfriend Dan Humphrey, and season two sees her return to her old partying ways.

Lively told Entertainment Tonight: “There’s a lot of juicy stuff going on in all of our lives.

“This is Serena starting anew without the burden of her past on her. She becomes a bit of a New York City ‘It girl’. She strays away from her constant friends a little bit and starts hanging out with 20-something people. Read more & comment »

Gossip Girl actress, Blake Lively, has insisted that she is nothing like her character, Serena van der Woodsen.

Despite some tabloids recently comparing her to Paris Hilton, Blake claims that she has never had the crazy times that Serena experienced.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan magazine Blake commented:

“There wasn’t a period in my life, like Serena went through, where I was doing drugs and having sex with my best friend’s boyfriend. I never went through that kind of crazy. I’ve kissed just three people in my life, other than stuff that I’ve done for TV or movies.” Read more & comment »

When Dan (Penn Badgley) notices that Serena seems preoccupied he jumps to the conclusion that it must have something to do with Serena’s new roomie and soon-to-be step-brother, Chuck (Ed Westwick). Having been recently dethroned as Queen Bee in the last episode by Gossip Girl, with an assist from scheming “little J” (Taylor Momsen), Blair (Leighton Meester) hesitantly returns to school with the support of her BFF, Serena (Blake Lively).

Meanwhile, Serena struggles to adjust to her new living arrangements with her future step-brother, Chuck (Ed Westwick), while receiving disturbing packages from an unknown sender.

Jenny’s drive to be popular hits an all-new time high when she does something illegal to fit in with her new Upper East Side friends. Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle also star.

Former ‘OC’ producer, John Stephens, has been hired as a new producer on US teen drama Gossip Girl.

Stephens was offered the job by his OC colleagues who already produce Gossip Girl, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.

“I was a big fan of Gossip Girl - probably embarrassingly big for a 36-year-old man - so that, and the prospect of working with Stephanie and Josh again, meant I probably would have worked on the show for free,” said Stephens. “It was a real bonus when they offered to pay me.”

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the makers of US drama Gossip Girl are planning a spinoff series set at a girls boarding school.

The show may be following the character of Jenny Humphrey, who in the Gossip Girls books is given the choice of whether to repeat ninth grade or go to boarding school.

Jenny chooses boarding school, but completely reinvents herself as a typical ‘popular girl.’

The New York Daily News has reported that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are big fans of Gossip Girl star, Chace Crawford. Chace plays Nate Archiblaid in the US drama.

The pair met the young star at The Met Costume Gala last week and made a beeline to tell him how much they admired his work.

“Tom and Katie went up to Chace to say how much they love him and the show. They didn’t talk to any of the other cast members,” a source is quoted as saying.

Fellow cast members Penn Badgely (Dan Humphrey ) and Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass) were said to be disappointed that they “didn’t get any love” from the megastars. Read more & comment »

I was eagerly awaiting for the much hyped Gossip Girl to kick off on ITV2 last night. It was created by Josh Schwartz, the man behind the OC and Chuck, both great TV shows, so it follows that this one will be just as good, right?

Wrong! I made myself sit through the whole hour, so I could give a balanced and fair view of the show, but it was hard going. In comparison with some of the other new shows that have kicked off recently, Dirty Sexy Money in particular, this show was slow to get started and failed to hold my interest.

I love shows like The OC and Dawsons Creek, so in theory this should be right up my street, and while I didn’t loathe it, Gossip Girl will not be ranking in my top five current TV shows. It probably wouldn’t even score a place in my top ten. Read more & comment »
