It’s been revealed today that Corrie villain John Stape – who’s played by Graeme Hawley – will plunge to his death in scenes that will air in June.
As viewers will probably know, John has become the Street’s most unlikely mass murderer, but has so far got away with his crimes…
However, when workers dig up the concrete floor at Underworld and discover Colin Fishwick’s body – which John placed there last year after Colin died of natural causes – Stape’s web of lies begins to become unraveled. Read more & comment »
Graeme Hawley is worried about dashing from scene to scene in Coronation Street’s live episode tonight.
The actor – who plays John Stape in the ITV1 soap – will be seen rushing to hide the dying body of his secret accomplice Charlotte (Becky Hindley), who he brutally attacked with a hammer on Monday (06.12.10).
Graeme explained: “I’ve got to sprint so fast from scene to scene that I’ve asked them to beef up my shoes with special grips because I’m worried about slipping over.

Coronation Street actor Graeme Hawley – who plays John Stape – has denied a report that claimed he was “attacked” by an angry fan of the show.
The report in a tabloid newspaper claimed that the fan had attacked Graeme in response to the storyline in which John Stape kidnapped Rosie Webster.
However, on the show’s website, Graeme wrote that the story isn’t true.

The Daily Mirror today reports that Coronation Street actor Graeme Hawley – who plays John Stape – was attacked by a fan of the show who was angry that his character had kidnapped Rosie Webster.
The storyline last year depicted John holding Rosie hostage at his grandmother’s house for several weeks.
It seems that bystanders had to pull the man away from a “shaken up” Graeme.

Corrie actor Graeme Hawley has been telling What’s On TV magazine about his character’s upcoming storylines involving John’s identity theft from his former colleague, Colin Fishwick.
Graeme, who of course plays John Stape, told the magazine that viewers will shortly see John being accused of having an affair. However, it was the real Colin who was playing away, not John.
