Graham Norton rapped for lesbian joke

Graham Norton’s has been told off by the BBC after he made a joke about lesbians.

During an episode in March, Norton joked about a picture on a patent application saying: “I don’t know why they’ve got some strange lesbian to be the model.”

Ruth Jones, who was a guest on the show, replied: “She may not be a lesbian, come on now.”

Jones added: “What does a lesbian look like?”

Graham Norton has reportedly decided to stay with the BBC, despite recent rumours that he was defecting to Channel 4.

Graham is said to have been promised three major TV shows this year, one including the new Andrew Lloyd Webber/Wizard of Oz talent show.

A source told The Sun last night: “Graham loves the BBC and is really happy working there.

Graham Norton is reportedly going home to Channel 4 as soon as his current BBC contract ends this year.

Graham has fronted such shows as ‘I’d Do Anything’ for the BBC but after the cancellation of this years Lloyd Webber reality TV show, Norton was left with no big projects on his horizon.

As Paul O’Grady threatens to leave Channel 4 due to budget cuts, there are those who think Norton would be the ideal replacement.

TV presenter Graham Norton has confessed that he gets drunk during the filming of his BBC chat show if the guests bore him.

Graham told US chat show host Chelsea Handler: “It just keeps you interested, if a guest is being a bit boring you go: ‘Ah wine, my friend’, and then you perk up.”

BBC bosses have axed Graham Norton’s Totally Saturday after it failed to pull in viewers.

Last Saturday’s episode pulled in just 2.5million viewers and was even beaten by a repeat of ITV’s Animals Do The Funniest Things.

An insider told The Sun: “Totally Saturday has been totally disastrous. The BBC hoped it would be their answer to Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway on ITV.

Jonathan Ross has criticised the standard of weekend television in the UK, specifically the shows hosted by Graham Norton and John Barrowman.

Speaking on his BBC Radio 2 show Ross said: “What have we got on TV over the weekend? We had had Graham Norton’s Totally Saturday. Well that’s not good enough.

Last Night’s TV – Totally Saturday

Was totally pants, despite being hosted by the fabulous Graham Norton, it really was awful.

Actually, what it amounted to was basically was a conglomeration of bits from every Saturday show there’s ever been, but primarily, it was very like Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. The BBC were criticised a while ago for making “copycat” programmes, and they clearly didn’t heed any of the criticism of them because this show was a total rip off and singularly unoriginal…

Graham was, as ever, very funny, but we could really have done without the audience; it would’ve been better to just have a Graham Norton stand-up show. But sadly, the audience took part in stupidity such as taking back ownership of their possessions via innumerable games and nominating an audience member to be a “living hamster” and run round in a big wheel dressed as a hamster. Graham Norton is quite the BBC golden boy at the minute. His BBC Two chat show has been moved to the more popular BBC One and given a primetime slot on Monday nights.There is one man that may not be too pleased with the development though.

Jonathan Ross hosts the UK’s most popular chat show on a Friday night and though Norton’s show will air three days later, Beeb bosses have decided to film them on the same day. This will leave the two hosts battling it out for high profile guests.

Graham Norton Breaks Two Ribs At BAFTAs

Graham Norton must have got a little bit tipsy at this years Baftas, after leaving the ceremony he went home, fell down and broke two ribs.

“I got home and fell down my stairs and broke two ribs,” he told the BBC.

“I’ve been to the hospital and given horse tranquilising pain-killing medication. There’s nothing they can do about broken ribs.”

Piers Morgan has hit out at chat show hosts Jonathan Ross, Graham Norton and Alan Carr saying that they “wouldn’t know a good journalistic question if it bit them on their backsides”.

Morgan said that Norton is “too camp, bitchy and ’showbizzy’ for my taste”, and named him the man with the most irritating voice, apart from Alan Carr.

Piers was interviewing himself for the March edition of GQ magazine and he added that Jonathan Ross should have been sacked over his recent prank calls to Andrew Sachs.

Graham Norton Replaces Terry Wogan On Eurovision 2009

Graham Norton is set to replace Terry Wogan on this years Eurovision Song Contest.

Terry will stand down after presenting the show for 35 years, Wogan said he would be “sad to leave it all behind”.

He said: “I’ve had 35 wonderful years commentating on the Eurovision for radio and television.

“From my first, in a small musichall in Dublin, to my last, in the huge arena in Belgrade, it has been nothing but laughter and fun.

“The silly songs, the spectacle, the grandiose foolishness of it all.
