Graham Norton To Replace Terry Wogan On Eurovision

Camp TV presenter, Graham Norton, is all set to replace Terry Wogan on Eurovision next year according to The Sun.

Terry recently announced that he would no longer be happy to present the BBC’s coverage of the competition after Andy Abrahams disappointment this year.

‘The BBC need an alternative and Graham is their man. He is currently talking to bosses about the Song For Europe show, which will run some time in March next year,’ said an insider to The Sun.

‘Execs have big plans for the show and want to make it more glitzy, with one eye on X Factor.’

Joan Rivers and Alicia Silverstone on The Graham Norton Show

This week on his BBC Two show Graham Norton chats to Joan Rivers and Alicia Silverstone.

Joan tells Graham on The Graham Norton Show about swearing on a live daytime ITV programme this week.

She says: “I was thrown out of Loose Women, two men turfed me off, I thought ‘osteoporosis, crack, crack!’ I thought this is a reality show and I’m the first voted off… they didn’t give me a goody bag.”

Alicia tells Graham about being a vegan: “I really care about animals, there’s so much unnecessary suffering going on… all four of my dogs are vegan, they don’t fart any more! I eat delicious food but without cruelty.” Read more & comment »

Gordon Ramsay spills the beans to Graham Norton

Tonight on The Graham Norton Show on BBC Two Gordon Ramsay cooks up a few stories to share with his host.

Tonight on BBC Two, Graham Norton hears from Minnie Driver about preserving her privacy, being pregnant and the pressure to lose post-baby weight.

In The Graham Norton Show, Minnie tells Graham about her “ridiculously quiet life”.

“I’ve been out with more civilians than dodgy actors, I’m friends with most of my exes,” she says. “I live in a quiet part of LA, I wear knickers, I don’t roll out of clubs at four in the morning…”

Martin Sheen Tells Graham Norton Who He Backs As President

Tonight on BBC Two’s The Graham Norton Show (24 April, 10.00pm), TV’s best-known fictitious president, West Wing star and life-long Democrat Martin Sheen says he’s backing Obama for the real-life presidency.

He says: “Both Obama and Clinton came to me for support … I haven’t said this publicly before but I’m an Obama supporter. Bill Clinton loved The West Wing and still calls me the President, so I have to be careful.”

Tonight screen legend Tony Curtis and Hollywood A-lister Kevin Bacon join Graham Norton for the first edition of the new run of his eponymous prime-time series The Graham Norton Show on BBC Two.

Kevin Bacon reveals he was rejected by Playboy: “I always dreamed of being one of the Playboy interviews. I finally got the call two years ago, I was thrilled to finally make it, but two weeks later I was out. At that moment I realised I was too old.”

Glenn, in the UK to promote her forthcoming appearance in hit US drama Damages, to be screened on BBC One in the New Year, talks on The Graham Norton Show about the enduring legacy of her Oscar-nominated performance in Fatal Attraction.

“I didn’t get very many dates afterwards,” she says, “and still, on elevators people go over to one side.”

Hollywood blockbuster author Jackie Collins and maverick film director John Waters join Graham Norton for tonight’s edition of The Graham Norton Show on BBC Two.

John Waters, in town for the West End opening of his musical Hairspray, says it i’s the best version ever.

“Michael Ball is great in it, it’s a top-rate production. I’m really proud because it’s the fourth fat girl who’s become a star, it’s great for her.” he says.

Melanie ‘Sporty Spice’ Chisholm confirms she was slow to sign up for the Spice Girls’ forthcoming world tour when she joins Graham Norton for tonight’s (Thursday 25 October) edition of The Graham Norton Show on BBC Two.

“I was Reluctant Spice,” she says, “I was the last to make my decision because it was a hard decision to make … I was scared we couldn’t do it again. It was a weird time of my life, I had a lot of personal s**t to get over after the Spice Girls.”

Cagney & Lacey reunited on The Graham Norton Show

Legendary Eighties top cop duo Sharon Gless and Tyne Daly – aka Cagney & Lacey – are reunited 25 years after their TV team debut when they join Graham Norton for the final edition in the current run of The Graham Norton Show on BBC Two.

They reveal that they very nearly didn’t make it beyond the first season: “For the first time in the history of American television, the audience wrote in and saved the show. We were cancelled, and CBS had to admit they were wrong. Our deals were fantastic!” says Sharon.

Tyne adds that their iconic screen partnership only took off by default: “They said it’s Gless or nothing [she was the third Cagney] so I had to go and court her. I was mad because I was having to start out again … I called her up, took round some champagne, got her s**t-faced and she said yes!” Read more & comment »
