Grange Hill On Ashes To Ashes Series Two

Iconic children’s TV show Grange Hill is set to make an appearance on the new series of Ashes To Ashes.

The Sun reports that legendary headmistress Mrs McClusky is seen teaching Alex Drake’s (Keeley Hawes) daughter Molly on the first episode of the show.

Alex is in 1982 and sees Molly on the TV, with Mrs McClusky saying to her: “We want to know why you locked yourself in the toilet.”

Grange Hill’s Last Ever Episode!

One of the longest ever running children’s TV shows shuts up shop tonight with its last ever episode.

I have never been a big GH fan, not even when I was within it’s target audience, so I can’t say that I’m gutted about the BBC’s decision on this one. But some people must have liked it as there has been quite a fewonline campaigns from fans who want to save the show. Read more & comment »

Todd Carty To Appear On Grange Hill Final Episode

Whats On TV has reported that former Eastenders actor, Todd Carty, is to appear on the final episode of Grange Hill This September.

The former EastEnders star also starred in Grange Hill for four years playing Peter “Tucker” Jenkins.

This time round he will appear as the uncle of Patrick “Togger” Johnson, who is facing expulsion from school after falling behind with his coursework.

Carty said: “Going back to Grange Hill was hugely nostalgic and quite emotional. I was sat having lunch in the canteen with all the kids during filming and getting a little misty-eyed. Read more & comment »

BBC Axes Grange Hill

The BBC has announced it’s decision to axe kids drama, Grange Hill after more than thirty years.

CBBC controller Anne Gilchrist said: “The lives of children have changed a great deal since Grange Hill began and we owe it to them to reflect this.”

There will be one more series this year, in which producers want to focus on the younger children of Year Six.
