Grey’s Anatomy star Chandra Wilson is set to cross over to spinoff show Private Practice.
According to EW.com, Wilson, who plays Miranda Bailey in the American medical drama, will appear in Private Practice during the third episode of season six. There will be quite a spark between her and ladies man Sam when she shows up in the Oceanside Wellness clinic.
It is common knowledge now that T.R Knight won’t be back for season six of Grey’s Anatomy. In last season’s finale, his character George O’Malley was left with his life hanging in the balance after jumping in front of a bus to save a girl. Show writer Shonda Rhimes had big plans for his exit episode early in season six, but T.R refused to come back.
“I kind of get it,” the Rhimes said in this week’s Entertainment Weekly. “[He’d] emotionally walked away.”
The sixth season of Grey’s Anatomy is already in production and the departure of T.R Knight has taught creator Shonda Rhimes some valuable lessons.
Shonda says that the end of season five taught her that at one point most of the cast may decide to leave the show and she knows she may one day be faced with the dilemna of how to make Grey’s work without Meredith or Derek.
Ellen Pompeo has recently announced her first pregnancy and on planning for her leave Shonda told Michael Ausiello of E!:
Katherine Heigl has been shooting her mouth off again, this time directing her sharp tones at the Grey’s Anatomy producers.
The actress, who plays Dr Izzie Stevens in the medical drama, told The Late Show With David Letterman that she finds the fimling schedule ‘cruel and mean.’
“Our first day back was Wednesday and I’m going to keep saying this because I hope it embarrasses them, it was a 17-hour day, which I think is cruel and mean,” she said.
Chandra Wilson has admitted that she was shocked and honoured when she released that she had been nominated for two Emmys.
The Grey’s Anatomy star has been nominated for outstanding supporting actress in a drama for Grey’s Anatomy and outstanding lead actress in a miniseries or movie for Accidental Friendship.
Wilson told People: “We did the [nomination announcement] rehearsal ahead of time [and] went down the teleprompter three times. My name wasn’t there, so I was like, ‘Cool’.
Katherine Heigl has been doing the rounds this week promoting her new movie ‘The Ugly Truth.’ But she has also given us loads of Grey’s titbits to enjoy on the way.
Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl has said that she doesn’t understand people who think she speaks her mind too much.
Many people were angry with Heigl when pulled herself out of the running for a 2008 Emmy, after saying that her storylines that year didn’t warrant any awards.
Heigl told InStyle magazine: “I’ve got this moniker that I’m the ‘foot in mouth gal’, and I keep thinking, ‘In what way?’
Grey’s Anatomy boss Shonda Rhimes has revealed that they had to reshoot the final scenes of Grey’s Anatomy’s fifth season after she had a last minute change of heart.
Shonda told Entertainment Weekly that the final scene showing Izzie Stevens in an elevator, was originally shot with her ex-fiancée Denny, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. However after filming had wrapped Shonda had a realisation that Izzie was being escorted to the afterlife by the wrong person.
With the recent news that Grey’s Anatomy will return minus George O’Malley next year, I am delighted to find out that Arizona Robbins will be back and as a season regular.
Arizona appeared sporadically in season five as a love interest for Callie Torres. She also tried to poach Doctor Bailey from general surgery to her paediatric department by telling her of the ‘joy’ involved in working with children.
Gorgeous Grey’s Anatomy stars Patrick Dempsey and Eric Dane have joined the cast of new movie ‘Valentines Day’ according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The all star movie will also star Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Ashton Kutcher and Shirley MacLaine, and will be directed by ‘Pretty Woman’ director Garry Marshall.
Dempsey will play a married obstetrician who is cheating with Jennifer Garner’s character.
In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Izzie Stevens will be back!
George O’Malley may have killed hit by a bus, meaning that T.R Knight will not be returning to Grey’s Anatomy, but apparently a brain tumour did not get the better of Izzie Stevens and Katherine Heigl will be back.
A source told US magazine:
“Katie will still be on Grey’s next season.”
I do hope this means that the actress will get some better storylines in the new season. The whole Denny apparition thing got a little tedious during the one just past.
There has been a lot of will he, won’t he, this year over T.R Knight’s future on Grey’s Anatomy. I for one am glad that the issue has finally been resolved and EW.com is reporting that Knight is officially leaving the show.
I am a huge George O’Malley fan and I will be sad that his and Izzie’s banter will be no more, though there is some speculation that another actor may replace T.R in the role.
That would be just plain wrong though, wouldn’t it?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on TV spoilers. I myself seek them out and love to have an inkling of what is coming up on my favourite TV shows. However I am sure that there are some fans who try to avoid them like the plague and these days that it becoming harder and harder to do.
This week THR.com sat down with the showrunners of several popular shows, including Matthew Weiner (Mad Men), Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy), Greg Daniels (The Office), Katie Jacobs (House), Alan Ball (True Blood), and Jenji Kohan (Weeds), and they talked about this and many other things.
