EastEnders star Marc Elliott, has revealed the reason behind his decision to quit the award-winning BBC1 soap was for fear for being remembered as, and stereotyped for future roles, as just a gay Muslim.
Marc, who joined the cast of EastEnders as the confused eldest Masood son, Syed, back in 2009, has just filmed his final scenes for the show, which will air next month.

It’s been reported today that Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) is set to capitalize on the grisly history of Albert Square by starting up Murder Tours, which will see the enterprising landlord taking visitors on a tour of the murder hot spots around the Square…
And of course, that includes the scene of Walford’s latest murder, that of Heather Trott (Cheryl Fergison).
Alfie will, according to The Sun, take morbid visitors to the flat where Ben (Joshua Pascoe) of course saw Heather off on her journey to the great KFC in the sky via the medium of smack on the head with a photo frame.
Of the plotline, which will air in October and particularly on Halloween, a show insider said, “The backroom staff had a lot of fun planning this one.”
And there’s a very lot of gruesome There’s Been A Murdherrrr fun to be had around Walford, given how many residents have met an untimely end on the Square, either through foul play, illness or accidents… Read more & comment »

Last week, EastEnders fans were treated to seven episodes of the hit soap, with last night’s double bill seeing returnee Sharon hopping on the good foot and doing the bad thing with Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and Ben Mitchell confessing to the police that he murdered Heather.
The build up to both of the show’s Big Week plotlines has of course been large, and the show’s bosses were rewarded with unusually high viewing figures all week…
But what did you think of the week’s shows? Were they worth all the hype?
Well I have to say, I think they were. I’ve been gripped all week, and have only wished that each episode was an hour long instead of half an hour.
Sharon’s return – at first – I thought was asking us to suspend our disbelief somewhat, given that she simply abandoned her obviously much loved son Dennis at the venue where she should have been marrying fiancé John… Read more & comment »

Could Ian Beale be about to blow the whistle on the murder of Heather Trott in EastEnders?
Fans of the award-winning BBC soap will know how Ian (Adam Woodyatt) returned to the soap last week after spending the last few months on the streets after he discovered that his half-brother Ben (Joshua Pascoe) was the person responsible for the harpooning of Heather Trott earlier this year.

EastEnders legend, Steve McFadden, has expressed his excitement over the return of Sharon to the hit soap!
McFadden, who has played menacing mechanic Phil Mitchell since 1990, said that it only “took seconds” to fall back into routine with his old co-star, Letitia Dean, who has played his characters former flame and sister-in-law, Sharon Rickman, on and off since the show began in 1986.

Oh dear, it would seem as though the very fragile world of Jay Mitchell is about to come tumbling down around him in EastEnders when girlfriend, Abi Branning, announces that she is off to Costa Rica on a scholarship.
Jay (Jamie Borthwick) is still feeling the pressures of the harpooning of Heather Trott, and his relationship with Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) has been the only thing holding him together, so when she reveals her plans, he resorts to a pretty desperate measure to get her to stay, a marriage proposal!

As we have all watched over the last week or so, the cover up of Heather Trott’s murder is starting to unravel in EastEnders, leaving us all just waiting for the truth to be revealed, but could the Mitchell’s have one more trick up their sleeves?
So far, since Killing Heather, we have seen murderer Ben Mitchell (Joshua Pascoe) enlist the help of father Phil (Steve McFadden) to help cover up his dastardly deed, whilst Jay Mitchell (Jamie Borthwick) shook close to breaking point in the background!
However, despite his calculated steps to keep the truth from coming out, including breaking his dad and Shirley (Linda Henry), Heather’s best friend, up, it was Ben himself who spilled the beans, to half-brother Ian (Adam Woodyatt).

Heartbroken Andrew Cotton is set to make the leap from zero to hero next week in EastEnders, when he saves Patrick Truemans life!

We all knew he couldn’t get away with it forever, and it seems we were right, as tomorrow becomes judgement day for EastEnders Ben Mitchell, when his brother Ian Beale discovers the truth about Heather’s death!
It almost seemed like the perfect, undetectable murder when Ben Mitchell (Joshua Pascoe) killed Heather Trott in cold blood in March, but viewers have seen the visible cracks appearing in the cover up constructed by Ben, his dad, Phil (Steve McFadden) and half-step-adopted brother Jay (Jamie Borthwick) since the dastardly deed was done, and it is all set to come to an explosive head in tomorrow night episode.

A report earlier this week in The Sun claimed that while she was grocery shopping, Cheryl Fergison – who of course recently left EastEnders and her role as hapless Heather Trott – parked in a spot designated as parking for disabled drivers, however, via Twitter, she’s denied the story.
She also commented on the picture that the paper’s snapper took of her, which, as you can see is not a very flattering one.
Cheryl tweeted, “Whilst shopping last sunday. now for one thing I was told that it was no longer a disabled bay and for two that is one thing i hate myself. (sic)
“The pics as ever are very bad and are meant to make me out to be some miserable disabled bay nicker.
“But obviously i would not and did not set out to do this. So it seems to me the crime i really commited was to look fed up whilst shopping…” Read more & comment »

Cheryl Fergison only hung up her tabard a few weeks ago in the role of Heather Trott – who was of course murdered by Ben Mitchell (Joshua Pascoe) but she’s already lined up her next job as a housemate on Celebrity Big Brother.
And according to TV Biz, she’s set to land £175,000 for starring in the show which is due to air over the summer.
Loose Women panelist Denise Welch of course won the last Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5.
Of signing Cheryl – who last year she married Moroccan toy boy Yassine Al-Jermoni who is 20 years younger than her – to go into the house, a source close to the show told the paper, “Her character of downtrodden Heather is so different from the actual actress.
“Cheryl is hilarious. She’s got a really great sense of humour and producers wanted to sign her up the minute she was written out of EastEnders…” Read more & comment »

Cheryl Fergison, who of course played the role of Heather Trott in EastEnders, is to star in panto – as is former Emmerdale star Danny Miller – this Christmas playing the role of the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella at the Central Theatre in Chatham, Kent.
Of the role, Cheryl said, “I’m thrilled and I’ve heard that the Central Theatre and Medway audiences are brilliant, so it’s going to be loads of fun.”
And the pantomime’s producer Paul Hendy added, “Cheryl will go down a storm.”
When it was first revealed that Cheryl was being axed from EastEnders, she told the media that she was “upset” at the news, but later, she agreed with the show’s bosses that it was perhaps best to end the character’s run before the viewers became “bored” with her.
However, later, when Cheryl filmed her final scenes as Heather, she was again upset that the show’s bosses called in a stunt double to film the moments when Ben Mitchell (Joshua Pascoe) felled Heather with a photo frame… Read more & comment »
March 30th, 2012 by TV Writer Lynn. Tags: Eastenders, heather trott, Heather Trott's funeral

In next week’s episodes of EastEnders, the Heather Trott murder enquiry takes a shocking new turn when one of the Square’s residents is arrested on suspicion of her murder shortly after her funeral!
As fans will know, Andrew Cotton (Ricky Grover) has now been released from police custody, but that doesn’t mean that everyone thinks he’s innocent, and in Thursday night’s episode, when he turns up at Heather’s funeral, Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) is livid and warns him to stay away…
However, as mentioned, when DS Crisp turns up at the wake and makes an arrest, everyone’s shocked, not least of all Shirley, who, by the end of the week, actually teams up with Andrew to hunt out the killer… Read more & comment »
