Episode starts with Peter and Isaac, Peter passes on his message to Hiro - “Save the cheerleader, save the world”. Afterward, in the car park, the gambler Hiro and Ando ripped off tracks them down and tells them he wants payback.
Hiro and Ando get involved in a card game to pay back the gamblers, but Ando discovers a gun under the table and they hide in the bathroom as a gunfught ensues. Hiro feels guilty that he hid and could do nothing to save them. Ando advises Hiro that when he refines his powers he might be able to come back and fix the things he wasn’t able to do first time around.
The episode begins on the subway where future Hiro Nakamura meets Peter Petrelli, and tells him that he has to save the cheerleader, Claire Bennett. He leaves with the advice “Be the one we need”.
Peter tells an incredulous Mohinder what happened with Hiro, but Mohinder walks away unimpressed.

Hit Sci-Fi TV show, Heroes is due to get its very own spin off show next month.
The show will include brand new characters, but will also give viewers the chance to vote for thier favourite Heroes: Origins character who will then join the cast of the new show.
Kevin Smith, the man behind Clerks and Jay And Silent Bob, has signed up to write and direct an episode.
“I just don’t want to be the guy who ruins Heroes,” he joked.
Meanwhile, Adrian Pasdar - who plays ambitious airborne politico Nathan Petrelli – says that each of the heroes is set for a thrilling storyline in Origins.
“No matter who your favourite character is, the things that are going to happen in this season will be exciting to the point of being numbing for fans,” he said.
Another fantastic episode of Heroes this evening. The character development continues apace, with Hiro and Ando providing both comic relief and some flyaway musings on the nature and responsibilities of being a superhero. Hiro even for a moment considers getting himself a costume. I really enjoy Hiro’s enthusiasm for his newfound powers and how he allows comic book lore and ideals to dictate his behaviour.Claire Bennett’s storyline takes a sinister turn as the high school footballer she has a crush on forced himself on her and attempts to rape her. After a brief scuffle between the two of them, Claire falls and impales her skull on a spike and appears dead. As the episode ends, we see an unidentified hand remove the implement from her head. As the camera pans back, Claire wakes to discover her torso has been stripped back to reveal her ribs. Read more & comment »

Hit US Sci-Fi series Heroes, launched last night on BBC Two. Anyone who listened to Radio One at all yesterday couldn’t have helped but be aware of the show. In truth though, I have to admit, it lived up to all the hype.
The show’s premiere drew 4.3 million viewers to BBC Two last night, and was narrowly beaten by ITV’s Wire In The Blood.
The BBC reports:
The second series is due to premiere in the US in September, with a set of spin-offs called Heroes: Origins also set to be broadcast.
Heroes follows the story of a group of ordinary people with superhuman abilities who are brought together to prevent a catastrophe.

The hit American series Heroes, an epic drama chronicling the lives of ordinary people who discover they possess extraordinary powers, comes to BBC Two.
Sue Deeks, BBC Television’s Head of Series, Programme Acquisition, secured the free terrestrial television rights to Heroes in the UK for the BBC.
She says: “Heroes is a fresh and imaginative take on the superhero theme and features amazing special effects – BBC Two is the perfect home for such an intriguing, intelligent and irresistible drama.”
From creator/writer Tim Kring (Crossing Jordan), this 23-episode drama begins as a total eclipse casts its shadow across the globe.
Reports have emerged stating that the BBC have bought the second season of hit TV show Heroes before the first has even fully aired.
Wkipedia states that
Heroes is an American science fiction drama television series, created by Tim Kring, which premiered on NBC on September 25, 2006. The show tells the story of several people who “thought they were like everyone else… until they woke with incredible abilities” such as telepathy, time travel and flight. These people soon realize they have a role in preventing a catastrophe and saving mankind.
The BBC is said to have fought off fierce competition from Channel 4, Sky and Virgin Media for the show and is reportedly paying £450,000 an episode, which will be screened on BBC2 this autumn.
