Britain’s babies are getting bigger and bigger. One in 20 newborns in the UK weighs over 9lbs and are classed as too big, and this can be traumatic for both baby and mum.
Britain’s Biggest Babies looks at why our country’s babies are getting larger and investigates the theory that a nation of junk food eating mothers are producing a nation of junk food loving children - who are being born big and are staying big. Read More »

Get a load of this - ITV are dropping the second episode of Pushing Daisies so that they can finish the series before Euro 2008 begins.
This isn’t the first time one of the major networks has screwed over the fans of a TV show in favour of another show. The Doctor Who timeslot varies ridiculously due to the BBC giving other programmes priority.
Apparently, they will drop the second episode - which gives us more insight into Ned and his ability to raise the dead - because it’s the only episode they could lose without spoiling the story.

There was a chill of excitement tonight as Dexter Morgan uttered the first words in ITV/Showtime’s new series: “Tonight’s the night…”
You first see Dexter in silhouette as he drives through the streets of Miami. He next appears in the back seat of a businessman’s car and promptly wraps some string around the man’s neck. He directs him to a secluded place which has a series of shallow graves outside it.
He takes the man into the building where three badly decayed corpses are laid out. Dexter’s hostage is a serial killer who has killed a number of small boys. And now Dexter is about to exact his own brand of justice. In a short while, the man is naked and tied to a table with cling-film.
Dexter nicks the man’s face with a scalpel - his signature move (pay attention folks) - before cutting him up with his handy power tools.

I missed the first series of Primeval, despite the rave reviews it received. So when I caught the season premiere over the weekend, I had high expectations.
For those of you who don’t know, Primeval is like Torchwood, but with dinosaurs instead of aliens. You’ve got some kind of obscure agency dedicated to capturing and containing stray dinosaurs.
The problems I had with this episode are many…

Jim Mc Donald returns to Coronation Street this week, but it’s not the proud return he would have hoped for.
Last week, soap fans learned that Jim had been released from prison early, but had to stay in a bail hostel and report daily to his social worker. However, while at the hostel Jim had his clothes and shoes stolen, and so this week he is forced to come walking, in his socks, to Coronation Street to ask for help from his son Steve.
Steve (Simon Gregson, 33) admits: “I have to help him. I bought my mum a pub, so the least I can do is give my dad a job.”
So Steve offers Jim, played by 48-year-old Ulsterman Charlie Lawson, the post of full-time car cleaner at the taxi firm.
Will this give Jim the chance to break up Liz and Vernon’s relationship before their New Year’s wedding takes place?
“Despite their volatile relationship, in which he handed out severe beatings to his wife, Jim has never stopped loving Liz,” an insider told the Daily Star. Read More »

42% of the British population are upset about it, half a million moved house last year because of it and six people a year are even killed over arguments about it.
It’s noise in our neighbourhoods and ITV have acquired access to several dedicated council environmental units to show exactly how the “Noise Police” are fighting back.
During the six week-long Edinburgh Festival it’s not just the population of Edinburgh that increases dramatically, the workload of Edinburgh’s ‘Noise Police’ follows suit.
In Programme Three, Edinburgh’s Noise Officers visit the home of a woman so besieged by noise from festival venues that she has been reduced to doing her sewing in the only quiet room in the house – her bathroom. Read More »
