Hollyoaks actress, Anna Shaffer, has revealed that she has faced a public backlash following her part in the recent Esther Bloom bullying storyline currently playing out on our screens.

Fans of the hit show will know how last year, in a desperate bid to be accepted into the ‘cool’ gang at sixth form, Shaffer’s character, Ruby Button turned on her best friend, and sister figure, Esther Bloom (Jazmine Franks) and joined in with the bullying her new best friends Maddie Morrison (Scarlet Bowman) and Sinead O’Connor (Stephanie Davis) inflicted on the poor fashion student.

With one of the most thought-provoking and delicate storylines Hollyoaks has tackled in recent times about to come to its conclusion, one of the main actresses involved has revealed her part in the conclusion!

Fans of the hit Channel 4 soap will know how Esther Bloom (Jazmine Franks) is currently in hospital after a failed suicide attempt following months of relentless bullying from her supposed friends Ruby Button (Anna Shaffer) and Sinead O’Connor (Stephanie Davis).
Sinead and Ruby took over the insistent torment of Esther from former Queen Bee Maddie Morrison (Scarlet Bowman) after she was killed in the recent Enjoy The Ride wedding day bus crash.

Tortured to breaking point fashion student Esther decided her only option to escape the mental abuse was to take her own life. The suicide bid didn’t work but, as we reported last month, her condition is set to reach critical with only 24 hours to find a liver replacement before Esther dies.

Last year, we reported that reality TV star Jack Osbourne, who is of course the son of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, had been diagnosed as having multiple sclerosis, and he received the devastating news while he was filming a paranormal investigation show entitled, Haunted Highways.

And today, The Sun reports that the show is to be aired in the UK on Watch, airing as of Wednesday, 23 January.

As we’ll see in the show, Jack tours the States investigating incidents of suspected paranormal activity, and it was while in Utah that Jack first became unwell and sought medical advice.

Hollyoaks’s Esther Bloom is set to be left wracked with guilt after an argument with her step-grandfather, Jack Osbourne, results in him collapsing!

To make matters worse, the youngster leaves before it happens, and it is hours before anyone finds the landlord of the Dog in the Pond, making his health situation critical, according to the Daily Star newspaper.

It’s been reported today that Jack Osbourne – who is of course the son of TV personality Sharon Osbourne and rock star Ozzy – has been ditched by a US TV network after they learned that he’d been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Jack made the shocking revelation while appearing on The Talk, an American chat show that features Sharon on the celebrity panel.

He explained, “I had booked a job, right when I got diagnosed, and the company didn’t think I could actually perform the job.

“Out of everything, that’s what has really ticked me off the most because it’s like, ‘Don’t tell me what I can and cannot do’.

“At no point did they call me. It was all through agents and lawyers — I was offended by it.”

Yesterday, while appearing on US chat show The Talk – where she’s a regular panellist – Sharon Osbourne broke down and wept while discussing the revelation that her son Jack has multiple sclerosis.

26 year old Jack learned the news of his illness just weeks after his daughter Pearl was born to his fiancé Lisa Stelly.

When asked how Jack is, Sharon became emotional and said, “He’s great – he’s doing really, really good and I want to thank everyone for all their texts and goodwill and love they send to us.”

Co-host Julie Chen – who presents the US version of Big Brother – also fought back tears as she remarked that Jack is, “an amazing guy; he’s very courageous.”

Fate has a bizarre way of targeting certain people for certain things, or at least, that’s always been my experience of the fickle hand of fate…

And on reading today’s Mirror online, I was shocked and saddened – and again reminded of how fate seems to choose its targets carefully – to read that Jack Osbourne has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

26 year old Jack has of course just become a dad for the first time to baby Pearl – whose mother is Jack’s fiancé Lisa Stelly – and in the last few years, he eschewed a life of drink and drugs to pursue his love of extreme sports which of course featured in his reality TV show, Jack Osbourne: Adrenalin Junkie.

But in an interview with Hello! magazine, Jack has spoken about having been diagnosed with MS, which is an autoimmune disorder, at such a young age and right after his daughter was born.

God Bless Ozzy Osbourne airs on BBC2 on Sunday, January 29th at 10pm, and for fans of Ozzy, it’s a must see.

Made by his son Jack, the film chronicles Ozzy’s colourful life, from his rise to fame in rock band Black Sabbath brought him mixed fortunes…

He of course became insanely wealthy, but he also developed drug and alcohol addictions, which would dog him in the later years of his life.

And of course, the film tells the story of Ozzy’s marriage to Sharon, and of the turbulent – but solid – relationship that saw the couple raise three children; Aimee, Kelly and Jack.

Jack Osbourne – who is of course the son of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne and TV celeb Sharon – has announced that he and his fiancé Lisa Stelly are expecting a baby.

The couple have only been together for four months, but it seems Jack couldn’t be happier at the news that he’s to be a dad.

Jack made the announcement that Lisa is four months pregnant while appearing on Piers Morgan’s chat show in the US.

He said, “I’m excited. I’m a little nervous.”

Celebrity siblings, Kelly and Jack Osbourne have pulled out from presenting the backstage coverage of this years National Television Awards.

The pair have presented the show for the last few years but are unanle to continue this year as the date clashes with filming for the family’s US variety show.

DJs Sara Cox and Scott Mills will replace the pair for the show which airs next Wednesday night.

A spokesman told The Sun: “The only reason why Kelly and Jack are not hosting the ITV2 show is because they are in LA.”
