Alice Branning (Jasmyn Banks) is of course currently playing piggy-in-the-middle between her former employer – and major crush – Michael Moon and his estranged wife Janine…

And as we’ll see next week’s episodes, Alice becomes increasingly fed up of having to choose where her loyalties lie, because of course also stuck between the warring couple is little baby Scarlett, who Alice is looking after for Janine.

There’s a case of some good news and some bad news for fans of EastEnders today in that it’s been revealed that the show’s bosses plan on reuniting Walford faves Kat and Alfie Moon, however, it’s also been announced that Charlie Brooks is leaving the show for good this time.

Starting with the news about Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie (Shane Richie) getting back together in upcoming storylines, the show’s executive producer Lorraine Newman “let slip” the spoiler while at the TV BAFTAs, where ‘Enders scooped the award for Best Soap.

EastEnders have cast a familiar face in Daniel Coonan to play Kirsty Branning’s violent ex, Carl White, the Sun newspaper reports.

According to the publication Carl, who is being played by a former EastEnders small-part actor,  is set to be the biggest tough guy the long-running BBC soap has ever seen, and will throw a real spanner in the works for Kirsty (Kierston Wareing) and her husband Max (Jake Wood).

Fans of EastEnders will of course know that super bitch Janine Moon is back on the Square, and as ever, she’s enjoying wielding the power that her money can buy her, and especially so when it comes to her estranged husband Michael…

Fans of EastEnders will surely know that Walford villain Janine Moon is headed back to the Square, and her return prompts the final storylines for Steve John Shepherd, who plays Janine’s husband Michael…

Steve announced that he was leaving the show earlier this year, but as yet, it hasn’t been revealed exactly how he’ll be written out.

However, when asked for how she’d like to see him leave, Charlie Brooks, who of course plays Janine, said, “I would like Janine to destroy Michael! That’s what I want!”

The mystery of who is Kat Moon’s lover has of course been going on for a few weeks now, though of late, the storyline has taken something of a back seat amid the drama of Sharon’s return and the big Ben Mitchell murdered Heather reveal…

However, it’s set to feature fairly prominently again in upcoming episodes, and in tonight’s trip to Walford we’ll see that Janine (Charlie Brooks) begins to suspect that her husband Michael (Steve John Shepherd) is playing away.

As fans of EastEnders will know, Janine Malloy – who may in fact be Janine Moon soon – is about to give birth to a baby girl, but as the bubby will be born prematurely, her life will hang in the balance as medics battle to save her life.

Charlie Brooks, who of course plays Janine, has revealed to Soaplife that the birth will finally expose a large mum-shaped hole in Janine’s armour, and that she will be “terrified” that her baby won’t make it.

Of Janine’s reaction to learning that her daughter may not pull through, Charlie said, “[She’s] confused, scared and all over the place really. She’s struggling.”

Charlie added, “With babies as premature as hers, it’s touch and go. Janine just wants to take her home and be her mum.

However, Charlie Brooks, who of course plays toxic Janine, has revealed that she doesn’t think motherhood is going to change her character’s hard-nosed ways.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror about her current storylines on the show, Charlie – who’s taking a six month break from the soap in August – said, of Janine, “She is definitely a reluctant expectant mother.
