In next week’s episodes of Coronation Street, Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) unwittingly puts himself in killer Karl Munro’s sights as he becomes ever more determined to prove that his dead wife Sunita didn’t start the fire at the Rovers…

It seems that Gloria Price (Sue Johnston) is set to save her daughter Stella’s bacon in terms of The Rovers next week after she – details of exactly how are as yet under wraps – comes up with enough cash to get the refurb of the fire damaged pub back on track…

And though she rather left it to the last minute, given that Stella (Michelle Collins) had put the pub up for sale and suffered the indignity of taking a job as a cleaner at the Bistro, save it she does, but of course, she soon interferes, much to Karl Munro’s annoyance.

Fans of Coronation Street will know that in last night’s visit to Weatherfield, for a moment or two, it looked like Sunita Alahan (Shobna Gulati) might be going to make it as her doctors reported positive signs of improvement as they lifted the sedation that had kept her in a coma…

However, meanwhile, we saw evil Karl Munro (John Michie) trying to seem like a concerned friend as he quizzed Marcus Dent (Charlie Condou) about how Sunita was doing. And on hearing that she could well be about to come round, Karl panicked.

As we reported recently, arsonist Karl Munro is set to break down during Sunita Alahan’s funeral as the guilt of what he’s done overwhelms him.

He of course started the blaze in the Rovers and pushed Sunita (Shobna Gulati) into the cellar, rendering her unconscious as the inferno took hold. She has since been in a coma in hospital, and rumour has it that – as she shows signs of regaining consciousness – Karl (John Michie) will sabotage her life support equipment to make sure she dies and therefore can’t tell anyone the truth of what happened that night.

However, it’s been reported today that his efforts at covering up the truth may have been in vain when, during the funeral, he confesses to Stella Price (Michelle Collins) that he is in fact responsible for it all… Read more & comment »

Fans of Coronation Street will know that so far, wicked Karl Munro is doing pretty well at hiding the fact that it was he who deliberately set fire to the Rovers, which of course left firefighter Toni dead and which will soon see his former lover Sunita Alahan shuffling off the mortal coil too…

However, while speaking to the Radio Times, John Michie, who of course plays Karl, has revealed that though he thinks his character will “get his comeuppance” for his evil deeds – which include setting Sunita up to look like the guilty party – he hopes he won’t have to leave the show when that happens.

As we reported last week, Sunita Alahan (Shobna Gulati) is due to die in a fire at the Rovers which many of the Street’s residents will believe she started deliberately after her lover Karl Munro ditches her to reunite with Stella Price…

However, it seems that there’s more to the story than it first seemed because Michelle Collins, who of course plays Stella, has revealed that as the drama unfolds, Karl (John Michie) will become “sinister” when his efforts to win Stella back are thwarted.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Michelle said, “I’ve got loads of other good stuff coming up where my ex [Karl] gets very sinister and becomes totally obsessed with me.”

It’s been reported by Digital Spy that at the end of this month, Karl Munro’s Corrie affair with Sunita Alahan is going to become public knowledge, even though it is of course now over…

So far, only Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) has had any suspicions about the pair, but not wanting to upset her mum Stella, who is of course Karl’s girlfriend, she’s kept her concerns to herself so far.

However, when Karl (John Michie) and Sunita (Shobna Gulati) revisit their passion and share a kiss in the back room of the Rovers, Stella (Michelle Collins) walks in and catches them at it.

I cannot wait to see the fall out from that!

As viewers of Corrie will know, Sunita Alahan and her lover Karl Munro have been sailing close to the wind as they conduct their affair, and have been very close to being caught on numerous occasions…

However, for the formerly staid and conservative Sunita (Shobna Gulati) that aspect is part of what makes it all so exciting, but trepidatious Karl (John Michie) is less hooked on the whole catch-us-if-you-can game.

The actor, who’s alter ego Karl is cheating on his partner, Stella (Michelle Collins), with her friend and employee Sunita (Shobna Gulati), has revealed to Inside Soap magazine his excitement over the storyline, and his prediction of an explosive reaction when Stella finds out what he has been up to.

As fans of Corrie will know, Sunita Alahan and Karl Munro are getting ever closer as they not only clash with their respective partners, Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and Stella (Michelle Collins), but their attraction to each other grows…

And today, Shobna Gulati and John Mitchie, who play the soon-to-be lovers, have been talking about the affair, and the ramifications for their characters.

Beginning with John, during an interview for the show’s official website, he revealed that he thinks no matter what happens, Karl – who’s about to fake a break in at the Rovers to cover the fact he’s stolen money from the safe – will always manage to charm his way back into Stella’s good books.
