The BBC have been left up the creek without a paddle, after comedian Michael McIntyre reportedly turned down the chance to take over Jonathan Ross’ Friday night chat show.
Last week Jonathan revealed that he will be leaving the Beeb this July and Michael was favourite to take over his slot after Graham Norton was snubbed.

BBC bosses have reportedly banned their stars from publicly talking about Jonathan Ross’s departure from the network. Jonathan revealed last week that he was leaving the BBC but sources suggest that he was pushed out by bosses unwilling to keep overpaying him.
Nigel Lythgoe revealed that he planned to make a joke about Ross on Saturday night’s So You Think You Can Dance, but was banned from doing so.

Jonathan Ross has announced that he is leaving the BBC after 13 years with the corporation.
The channel’s highest-paid star will be leaving behind his BBC1 chatshow, Radio 2 show and a film review programme.
In a statement to the Press Association Jonathan said:
“Over the last two weeks I have decided not to re-negotiate when my current contract comes to an end. I would like to make it perfectly clear that no negotiations ever took place and that my decision is not financially motivated.

The 49 year old will drop from £6 million per annum to £3 million, and will also drop from a 3 year contract to a 2 year one.
