Un-named actor arrested for rape of 14 year old boy in the latest of a line of BBC sex scandals

Things are looking dark indeed for BBC bosses, after more and more reports have emerged of sexual abuse behind the scenes at the channel.

EastEnders: Soo, what did we think of Big Week when Sharon returned and Ben confessed?

Last week, EastEnders fans were treated to seven episodes of the hit soap, with last night’s double bill seeing returnee Sharon hopping on the good foot and doing the bad thing with Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and Ben Mitchell confessing to the police that he murdered Heather.

The build up to both of the show’s Big Week plotlines has of course been large, and the show’s bosses were rewarded with unusually high viewing figures all week…

But what did you think of the week’s shows? Were they worth all the hype?

Well I have to say, I think they were. I’ve been gripped all week, and have only wished that each episode was an hour long instead of half an hour.

Sharon’s return – at first – I thought was asking us to suspend our disbelief somewhat, given that she simply abandoned her obviously much loved son Dennis at the venue where she should have been marrying fiancé John… Read more & comment »

However, during this week’s special week of episodes, Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) is finally going to learn the truth, and of course, the revelation rocks not only her, but also the rest of the Square when it becomes public knowledge that it was indeed Ben who ended Heather’s life.

But initially, when Shirley discovers the photo frame that was used to kill Heather – and she tracks it back to having been in the Mitchell house – she jumps to the conclusion that it must have been Phil (Steve McFadden) who murdered Heather… Read more & comment »

EastEnders: Will Ian Beale tell Shirley who killed Heather?

Could Ian Beale be about to blow the whistle on the murder of Heather Trott in EastEnders?

EastEnders: Linda Henry says Shirley will feel “physically sick at the idea of Phil being involved in Heather’s murder”

As we reported recently, Shirley Carter is in for an über dramatic couple of weeks, because not only will she propose to her boyfriend Phil Mitchell, she’ll also – finally! – discover that his son Ben murdered Heather Trott…

And as if that wasn’t enough for poor old Shirl to cope with, thrown into the mix will be jealousy when Phil (Steve McFadden) ditches their engagement party when his former mistress Sharon Rickman (Letitia Dean) sends him an SOS message.

Speaking to Soaplife, Linda Henry began by revealing what happens in the build up to the dramatic moment that her character Shirley realises that Ben (Joshua Pascoe) killed Heather.

She began by explaining the rooftop proposal to Phil, saying, “She’s doing a sponsored abseil to raise money for Hev’s son George, but she’s terrified of heights… Read more & comment »

EastEnders star Linda Henry talks Sharon’s return and how Shirley finds the weapon that was used to kill Heather!

There’s a good deal of drama ahead for Walford’s Shirley Carter, and it begins with the return of Sharon Rickman, who of course once had an affair with Shirley’s bloke, Phil Mitchell.

And Sharon’s timing couldn’t be worse as far as Shirley’s concerned, because next week, we’ll see her propose to Phil (Steve McFadden) and when he accepts, the couple happily celebrate their engagement with a party in the Vic.

However, a distress call from Sharon (Letitia Dean) sends Phil running to her aid, despite the fact it’s literally in the middle of his own engagement celebration, and not unreasonably, that leaves Shirley rather unimpressed.

As fans will know, Sharon’s return will be marked by episodes on seven consecutive night as of August 13th, and it’s also during the special week that Shirley will learn that Ben Mitchell (Joshua Pascoe) murdered her BFF, Heather Trott… Read more & comment »

Life for Jay Mitchell (Jamie Borthwick) is really only just settling down into a relatively normal pattern since the horrific murder of Heather Trott…

But next week, that frame is going to come back to haunt Jay when he finds it hidden under Ben’s bed.

As you may recall, at the time of the murder, Ben’s dad Phil (Steve McFadden) told him to weight down the frame and chuck it in the canal, but for whatever reason, he didn’t and stashed it at home instead… Read more & comment »

But of course, Ben’s dad Phil (Steve McFadden) and his adopted brother Jay (Jamie Borthwick) already know that Ben’s a killer, but so far, they’ve managed to connive and deceive enough so that Ben’s not even on the radar over the slaughter… Read more & comment »

EastEnders: Joshua Pascoe – Ben Mitchell – is leaving the show!

It was confirmed by EastEnders bosses over the weekend that troubled teen star Joshua Pascoe is leaving the soap and his role as Ben Mitchell.

He’s set to appear on our screens for the last time towards the end of the summer when it becomes public knowledge that Ben murdered Heather Trott.

However, the how and why of the revelation is being kept a secret by the show’s bosses.

The news comes after it was reported last week that 16 year old Joshua – who was brought into the soap in 2010 after Charlie Jones, who formerly played Ben, was axed – was arrested on Thursday in connection with inquiries into an alleged sexual assault. Read more & comment »

EastEnders spoiler: Has Phil Mitchell killed Ian Beale?

As we have all watched over the last week or so, the cover up of Heather Trott’s murder  is starting to unravel in EastEnders, leaving us all just waiting for the truth to be revealed, but could the Mitchell’s have one more trick up their sleeves?

So far, since Killing Heather, we have seen murderer Ben Mitchell (Joshua Pascoe) enlist the help of father Phil (Steve McFadden) to help cover up his dastardly deed, whilst Jay Mitchell (Jamie Borthwick) shook close to breaking point in the background!

However, despite his calculated steps to keep the truth from coming out, including breaking his dad and Shirley (Linda Henry), Heather’s best friend, up, it was Ben himself who spilled the beans, to half-brother Ian (Adam Woodyatt).

EastEnders spoiler: Lucy tells Ian on wedding day, “it’s Mandy or me”

With Ian Beale’s gazillionth wedding coming up, no one could possibly expect it to go according to plan, after all it is Ian, and it is EastEnders.

But while the world sits and waits for his wife-to-be, Mandy, to come to her senses in the nick of time and stand him up at the altar, or for her to rob him blind as soon as he says I do, viewers will be shocked to see that this wedding is brought down by someone else entirely!

Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) has never has a great relationship with any of his kids, and when Lucy (Hetti Bywater) returned to Albert Square recently she made it very clear that she was not about to accept his new wife anytime soon.

So, when the big day arrives, Lucy – who has actually started to show a softer, more caring side recently, even towards Mandy (Nicola Stapleton), is set to ruin her dads wedding when she issues him with a severe ultimatum: “It’s me or Mandy. You decide.”

The wedding is fraught with problems from the start.  It is already the couples third attempt to get down the aisle, and with Ian keeping the fact that he is serious financial trouble from his fiancée, and having just discovered that his brother Ben (Joshau Pascoe) was the person responsible for the harpooning of Heather Trott, this final nail is too much for the chip shop owner to take.

In a bid to block out all his worries he gives Mandy a huge wad of cash to go and buy a new dress, and enlists the best man services of Max Branning (what will Alfie say?), but as quick as plans are being arranged, Lucy is secretly undoing them, including cancelling the registry office and throwing away the rings, in a bid to stop her dad from making, what she believes will be the biggest mistake of his life.

Unfortunately for her, her dad manages to fix everything so the wedding is back on track, forcing her to make the ultimatum on the morning of the wedding.

An EastEnders insider said: “By the morning of Ian and Mandy’s wedding Lucy has done everything she can to stop it happening.

“The only thing she has left to do is plead with her dad to come to his senses. When he refuses she tells him he must choose.

“It’s either Mandy or her and she means it.

“She tells him she will walk out of his life forever if he goes through with the wedding.”

Viewers can watch the drama unfold on May 24th.

EastEnders can be seen Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings on BBC1 / BBC1 HD.
