Access Hollywood has revealed that if ER producers had went with their original plan the shows biggest love story never would have been.
The roller coaster love life of Ross and Hathaway formed the basis of many of the shows classic episodes however originally Hathaway was supposed to die in the pilot of the series. Thankfully for Julianna Margulies who plays Hathaway, she tested really well and was written into the show on a more permanent basis. The pair returned to the show for one last episode which aired in America this week, we can expect to see it on More4 next Thursday.
Julianna Margulies has revealed that returning to ER felt like “coming home”
Julianna left the show in 2000, but decided to return with many of the shows former stars to take part in the final series.
“It felt as though a lifetime had happened since then… and nothing had happened since then,” she told TV Guide. “Half the crew is still there, God bless them. We were all family.”
Describing her storyline with George Clooney, she said: “[It is] not sensationalistic. John [Wells, executive producer] stayed true to what my feeling was about the characters.
“You pick up a slice of their life now. It’s very satisfying.”
