In light of the recent arrest of Bill Roache, Coronation Street are said to be faced with a huge re-write as his character, Ken Barlow, was about to be part of what has been described as a huge storyline.

Roache, who has played the ageing lothario since the show first aired back in 1960, was arrested at his Wilmslow, Cheshire home on Wednesday, on two counts of rape of a 15 year old girl in the late 1960′s, and subsequently charged after questioning.

We reported recently that in an upcoming storyline, Coronation Street’s resident bitch Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) is to be “beaten to a pulp” by raiders who stop her while she’s delivering an order for Underworld and proceed to nick the knickers…

However, it’s been reported today that Tracy Luv may have more to do with the robbery than was first though given that we’re set to see her stealing stock from the factory – where of course she’s now working after her boyfriend Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) landed her a job – and flogging the dodgy merchandise.

It’s been revealed today that in an upcoming storyline on Coronation Street, Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) will be brutally attacked as she’s delivering an order for knicker factory, Underworld.

The plotline begins when Tracy Luv is forced to become a delivery driver for the factory when Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment) calls in sick…

As fans of Corrie probably know, Toxic Tracy Luv Barlow is set to embark on a romance with ex-con Rob Donovan, and Kate Ford – who plays Tracy – has revealed that filming the scenes in which her character seduces Rob have been rather much like having an affair!

Kate, who is of course happily married to TV producer Jon Connerty, also revealed that Rob (Marc Baylis) reminds Tracy of her former lover, Charlie Stubbs, who Tracy of course murdered.

The People magazine reports that Coronation Street star Sol Heras has been sent home from set after a black eye meant he has had to be written out of Christmas scenes!

According to the publication the new cast member, who plays Ryan Connor in the hit ITV soap, turned up on set with a badly bruised eye, claiming he had sustained it during a friendly football match.

Coronation Street star Kate Ford, who of course plays Toxic Tracy Luv Barlow, has revealed that she suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder, which is of course better known by its acronym, OCD.

While speaking to the Daily Mirror, Kate confessed, “In my 20s I did have really bad OCD – I’d check things continually.

“I could check the oven 20 times before going to bed and all the sockets had to be turned off.

“It’s like your brain gets stuck in a loop. I do still have a bit of OCD.”

She added, “When I’m in Manchester I do this thing on the phone with Jon every single night, where I go through a check-list of things he needs to do before he goes to bed.

“I say, ‘Have you checked the oven’s off? Have you checked you’ve locked the back door? Is the car locked? Is the intercom on to hear Otis? Is the alarm on?’”

Coronation Street star Kate Ford has told Inside Soap that when her Corrie character Tracy Barlow falls ill with a potentially fatal kidney infection, the fact that she could be at death’s door doesn’t stop her using the situation to her own advantage.

As to her illness, fans may recall that in 1994, Tracy was rushed to hospital where she was diagnosed with massive kidney failure after she took an Ecstasy tablet in a nightclub.

She was then told by doctors that her only hope was a kidney transplant, which led to her mum Deirdre’s (Anne Kirkbride) new toy boy husband Samir Rachid offering one of his own kidneys.

However, just hours before the operation was to take place, Samir was beaten to death, but Deirdre told medics to go ahead and remove Samir’s kidneys to save her daughter… Read more & comment »
