Last night saw the first instalment of this week’s Emmerdale 40th anniversary celebrations, and what an episode it was.
Backed into a corner, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) found herself with two options, run off with Carl leaving everyone shocked, but still blissfully unaware that she had been sleeping with her nieces fella all year, or marry Dan quickly and run away leaving Cameron (Dominic Power) to deal with the huge can of worms that a furious Carl (Tom Lister) is bound to open.

STV report today that scheming Robbie Lawson and his mum Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye) are going to do their best to ruin Katie and Declan’s wedding day after Robbie discovers that Declan (Jason Merrells) is intending to fleece Megan out of the money she’s earned in setting up the music festival.
Speaking exclusively to STV, Jamie Shelton, who of course plays Robbie, said, “Robbie finds out Declan and Katie are going to screw Megan over with the festival money, and then Megan finds out.

Emmerdale’s official website has teased yet more storylines for the show’s 40th anniversary celebrations in October, and they include the revelation that a “major and well loved character” is set to be murdered during the special week of episodes.
As to who the murder victim will be, that is of course being kept firmly under wraps, but a show source told TV Biz, “It’s a closely guarded secret. Very few people know who the victim is.”
The week of special episodes, which air in October, will of course also feature the much talked about live broadcast, and of that, the paper adds, “The hour-long live episode promises to present viewers with every aspect of human life – births, weddings and an untimely death.”
Of the big week of shows, Emmerdale’s producer, Stuart Blackburn, said, “In our spectacular live episode viewers will be taken on a whirlwind journey encompassing every life experience… Read more & comment »

Things between Emmerdale lovers Katie Sugden and Declan Macey were going ever so well, until Declan’s nephew Robbie arrived on the scene that is – he is of course Megan’s son who she had adopted when he was a baby – and ever since, Robbie has been goading and annoying Katie to the point where she gives Declan an ultimatum…
The drama between Katie and Robbie (Jamie Shelton) comes to a head when he gets physical and menacing towards Katie after she sets him up in an attempt to prove to his mum Megan (Gaynor Faye) and particularly Declan (Jason Merrells) just how vile the newcomer is to towards her.
However, Katie’s to be left furious when, having shown Declan CCTV footage of Robbie turning nasty on her, he STILL refuses to throw Robbie out of Home Farm… Read more & comment »
