As we reported this week, in a forthcoming episode of Emmerdale, Andy Sugden is set to share a kiss with Amy Wyatt (Chelsea Halfpenny) who is of course his girlfriend Kerry’s daughter!

Emmerdale star Laura Norton has hinted that the flame between her character, Kerry Wyatt, and Andy Sugden may be heading for re-ignition in the future!

Fans of the hit soap will know how Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) and Kerry had a brief fling back in September before Debbie (Charley Webb) split them up by saying she didn’t want Kerry near their sick daughter, Sarah, after a misunderstanding over Kerry’s medication.

As fans of Emmerdale may know, farmer Andy Sugden is about to have a one night stand with Kerry (Laura Norton) who is of course Amy Wyatt’s wayward mother…

In scenes that will air on Wednesday, September 5th, we’ll see Andy taking pity of Kerry after Amy (Chelsea Halfpenny) throws her out of the house following a row.

As Andy and Kerry compare notes on their disastrous love lives, the wine flows and things take a turn for the steamy which results in the couple spending the night together.

However, in an interview with All About Soap magazine, Kelvin Fletcher, who of course plays Andy – a role he first took up in 1996 – has revealed that the night won’t herald a romance between the pair.

Not only has a spoof video of Tinie Tempah’s hit Written in the Stars – as made and performed by some of the cast of Emmerdale – gone viral on YouTube, it also prompted tears from departing star, Danny Miller.

The video, made by Danny’s co-stars Adam Thomas and Kelvin Fletcher – who play Adam Barton and Andy Sugden – was screened at Danny’s leaving do after he’d filmed his final scenes as Aaron Livesy. And Danny was so touched by the effort his co-stars had made, he had a little cry over it. Bless.

As fans of Emmerdale saw in this week’s episodes, Andy Sugden and Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) went to a hotel together to have sex, which is of course in the hope of conceiving a baby who could potentially donate bone marrow to their ill daughter Sarah…

However, Debbie and Andy – who’s played by Kelvin Fletcher – didn’t tell anyone about the liaison, and especially not their respective partners, Cameron (Dominic Power) and Alicia (Natalie Anderson).

Then, when Cameron told Debbie that he would have left her if she had slept with Andy, Debbie knows she can never reveal that she did in fact have sex with Andy.

Meanwhile, Andy is developing a new crush on Debbie – they were of course teenaged sweethearts – unaware that she feels as though she’s prostituted herself in order to persuade Andy to try for a baby the way nature intended. Read more & comment »

Both Charlotte Bellamy and Kelvin Fletcher – who of course play Laurel Thomas and Andy Sugden respectively – have been talking about their characters’ love lives, or the lack of them, depending upon your point of view.

Starting with Charlotte, she’s told Inside Soap magazine that she doesn’t foresee a happy ending for her character and her vicar husband, Ashley (John Middleton).

As fans will know, Ashley and Laurel’s marriage has been under tremendous pressure since Ashley discovered that Laurel has feelings for pub chef Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock).

And despite many attempts on Laurel’s part to convince Ashley that it’s him she wants to be with, Ashley simply can’t trust her anymore.

As we reported yesterday, Emmerdale’s Andy Sugden is set to fall in love once again with Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) after the couple sleep together in a bid to conceive a ‘saviour sibling’ for their daughter Sarah.

However, Kelvin, who of course plays Andy – and has had cameo roles in Cracker, Heartbeat and Coronation Street – says that Andy is “deluded” if he thinks there’s any romance with Debbie on the horizon.

Speaking to Soaplife, Kelvin first explained that Andy and Debbie meet in a hotel for sex, having failed to tell anyone about their meeting, most notably, Cameron (Dominic Power) and Alicia (Natalie Anderson).

Kelvin went on, “She’s [Debbie] dressed up and has booked them a room, having lied to Cameron about where she is.

“Andy’s about to storm out when she starts pleading with him to stay. He doesn’t need much persuading, but it’s not about the sex.

The second snippet of news is that as of next week, when Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) and Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher) meet in secret at a hotel and sleep together, trying to conceive a ‘saviour sibling’ for their daughter Sarah, Andy’s feelings for Debbie resurface.

As fans of Emmerdale will know, Andy Sugden and Debbie Dingle are trying to conceive a so-called ‘saviour sibling’ in the hope that the new baby could donate bone marrow to their sick daughter Sarah.

However, after trying – and failing – to get IVF treatment to conceive the baby, Debbie (Charley Webb) suggested to Andy that they use a DIY fertilization kit to try to get pregnant.

But that too fails, so in desperation, Debbie suggests to Andy – who is of course played by Kelvin Fletcher – that they should try to conceive naturally, which of course means they would have sex.

And given that both Debbie and Andy are in relationships with other people, the idea opens up a can of worms for all concerned.

In this week’s episodes of Emmerdale, we’ll see Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) suggesting to Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher) that they should conceive another baby so that the child’s bone marrow could be used to treat their daughter Sarah, who’s been diagnosed with Fanconi Anaemia.

As of tonight, we’ll see the couple deciding that IVF treatment could be the best way of conceiving another baby, however, as they are no longer a couple, one of the doctors they consult says it would be unlikely that they could be helped as they aren’t in a relationship.

So Debbie will tell Andy that they must pretend to be a couple again, much to the horror of their respective partners, Cameron (Dominic Power) and Alicia (Natalie Anderson).

And – rather unbelievably in my opinion – they’ll do their best to make the rest of the village believe they’re back together too… Read more & comment »

Kelvin Fletcher has admitted that he gets a lot of fan mail from male prisoners.

The Emmerdale actor – best known as volatile Andy Sugden in the ITV soap – says that many of the incarcerated criminals can relate to the farmer and his ‘tough background.’

He told the News of the World: “I get lots of letters from people in prison. Andy was in jail and he’s a troubled character from a tough background.

Kelvin Fletcher has admitted that he asked ‘Emmerdale’ bosses to give him more notice before his topless scenes, so he has time to get a spray tan.

The 26-year-old hunk – who is best known as troubled Andy Sugden in the ITV1 soap – explained that he hates looking pasty and white on camera and prefers to appear a bit more bronzed.

He said: “There have been times recently where I’ve had to take my top off on screen and I’ve thought, ‘B****y hell, I look all right there’. I just wish they’d give me a bit more notice so I could get the fake tan on!
