Stephen Fry has revealed that ITV has dropped his legal drama Kingdom
The actor, let fans in on the secret on his personal blog.
“Our masters at ITV have decided that there shan’t be a fourth series of the television series Kingdom,” he said.
Fry said it was “such a pleasure” making the programme in his “beloved Norfolk”.

This was the first time I’d watched Kingdom and I have to say, I won’t be watching it again. Comedically speaking, it doesn’t seem to know where it’s at; is it highbrow? Is it slapstick? No, it’s neither. Rather, it falls through the cracks somewhere inbetween and while it’s mildly amusing, it’s rather too reliant on obvious comedy.
Take for instance when the sci-fi obsessed Terry explained the intricacies of the crop circles that had been discovered in Geraldine’s (Sandi Toksvig) field; he realised they combined all sorts of elements from physics and maths but then – this clearly intelligent man – didn’t recognise that Fry as Kingdom was quoting from Shakespeare when he said, “There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy, Horatio” and Terry predictably replied, “It’s Terry Mr Kingdom” Read more & comment »

Stephen Fry returns to Norfolk to make a third series of ITV1’s ratings winning series Kingdom.
He is joined by Hermione Norris, Karl Davies, Celia Imrie, Tony Slattery, Phyllida Law, John Thomson and a host of prestigious guest stars, including June Whitfield, Peter Sallis, Sandi Toksvig, Jaye Griffiths and Anna Massey.
Filming has just begun on locations in Norfolk on the six part drama which follows the fortunes of Stephen Fry’s character, Peter Kingdom, an affable country solicitor in the picturesque Norfolk town of Market Shipborough. Read more & comment »

Two ratings winning ITV1 dramas have already won commissions to make new series later this year.
Stephen Fry is set to return to Norfolk to make a third series of Kingdom and it is back to South Africa for Stephen Tompkinson to film a fourth series of Wild at Heart.
The third series of Wild At Heart burst back onto Sunday nights with more than eight million viewers and Kingdom’s second series won nearly six million viewers.
Wild at Heart, which also starred Amanda Holden, Lucy-Jo Hudson and Hayley Mills follows the lives of British vet Danny Trevanion (Tompkinson – Prime Suspect, Marian Again, In Denial of Murder) and his family as they struggle to expand their business and get along with their neighbours in the heart of the African bush. Ex Cold Feet actor, Robert Bathurst, has landed a role in ITV’s newest drama, Kingdom. Robert shocked his fellow cast members when he appeared dressed as a transvestite, they were shocked at how good he looked in a dress!
Hermione Norris told The Sun:
“Robert looked a bit too good in his dresses. But I can think of blokes who would look a lot worse in drag.
“He did sit quite comfortably in his feminine attire.”
