Knight Rider is A Ratings Hit For SCI FI

knightrider3

Last night’s premiere of brand new Knight Rider has delivered its SCI FI channel’s best series ratings since the first run of Heroes in 2007. Over half a million viewers tuned in for the high-octane, feature-length pilot, which guest-starred David Hasselhoff.

SCI FI also enjoyed a steep uplift amongst young adults, with 33% of viewers aged 16 – 34, up nearly 60% on the channel’s average. Surprisingly, women aged 16 – 24 outnumbered their male counterparts in the same age group by 6 share points, proving that cars aren’t just for the boys.

There’s now a brand new clip available, featuring an interview with star Jason Breuning about the new series, and just what makes the new KITT so awesome. Watch the clip over the jump

He seems to think that the show would be better off with him in it, however we think he’s a little bit old for the action packed role!

Knight Rider returns to the Sci Fi Channel on Tuesday 12th May @ 8pm as a 2-hour feature-length special, and follows weekly every Tuesday.

Knight Rider’s Back! Sci Fi – Tuesday 12th May, 8pm

Remember K.I.T.T.? – a.k.a. the Knight Industries Three Thousand, and simply the coolest crime-fighting car ever created? Well, it’s back in this high-octane, zappy sequel to the iconic ‘80s original. And, OK, this time things are a little different. It might not have The Hoff at the wheel (although he does make a cameo in the pilot episode) and it’s a 2008 Ford Shelby Mustang rather than a TransAm Pontiac, but now K.I.T.T.’s an even bigger beast in the fight against crime – and it’s got a new ‘voice’: superstar VAL KILMER!

Sci Fi Snap Up Dollhouse & Knight Rider For UK

knightrider

The Sci Fi Channel has acquired the rights to two of the biggest shows to emerge from America in the last year, Dollhouse and Knight Rider. Both programmes will be part of the channel’s UK digital spring programming line-up.

I know that personally I have been gagging to have a look at Joss Whedon’s latest offering which centres round a young woman who as a member of an illegal organization has her memories and personality wiped clean and imprinted with new ones in order to fulfill assignments catering to the wealthy and powerful. It’s great news that the show is finally coming to UK TV and though I could live without the Knight Rider remake I know many men (my hubby for one) are eagerly awaiting its return.
