Fans of the hit ITV soap will know how Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) took a shine to Bob when she first arrived in the village, but Bob did not feel the same way, and ended up sleeping with her daughter, Gennie (Sian Reese-Williams) instead.

Whilst most of us are still getting over the utter brilliance that was the 40th anniversary live episode of Emmerdale, it would seem that not everyone is in agreement over its success!

Emmerdale star Liam Fox, who of course plays soppy new groom Dan Spencer, has told Soaplife that even though Dan now knows that his bride Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) cheated on him with Cameron Murray (Dominic Power) he’s still in love with Chas and wants to help her get out of prison.
As we saw in last night’s show, Chas was formally charged with the murder of Carl King (Tom Lister) but of course, though Chas believes she killed Carl, it was actually Cameron who wielded the fatal blow.
After revealing that Dan feels “hurt, angry and betrayed by Chas”, he just can’t bring himself to believe that she’s a murderer.
Liam said, “No matter what has happened, he can’t believe that, no.”
He added, “Whatever she may have done, she’s still his wife and as much as it seems like a crazy thing to do, he still wants to help her out… Read more & comment »

Last night saw the first instalment of this week’s Emmerdale 40th anniversary celebrations, and what an episode it was.
Backed into a corner, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) found herself with two options, run off with Carl leaving everyone shocked, but still blissfully unaware that she had been sleeping with her nieces fella all year, or marry Dan quickly and run away leaving Cameron (Dominic Power) to deal with the huge can of worms that a furious Carl (Tom Lister) is bound to open.

For any fans of Emmerdale who thought that Carl King may actually be showing the signs of regret over his treatment of Chas Dingle following his sudden interest in her personal life, THINK AGAIN.
Fans of the show will know how Carl (Tom Lister) has spent the best part of the month trying to get his head around the new relationship between his ex, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and her fiancée Dan Spencer (Liam Fox), trying his hardest to put them off each other, in what appeared to be a sever attack of the green eyed monster.

As fans of Emmerdale may know, when the show airs its live episode in October, we’re to see the double wedding of Katie Sugden and Declan Macey as well as Chas Dingle and Dan Spencer’s nuptials…
But of course, for Chas Dingle, there’s the spectre of Carl King’s (Tom Lister) threat to expose her affair with Cameron Murray (Dominic Power) hanging over her veil, so for her, the day may not have the fairytale quality it’ll have for fellow bride-to-be, Katie!
And as we’ve been reporting this week, the cast of the show have been talking to ITV about their roles in the live hour-long broadcast, and the latest of those is Lucy Pargeter and Liam Fox, who of course play Chas and Dan.
Beginning with Lucy, here’s what she had to say…
Tell us about Chas’ state of mind in the lead up to the 40th birthday week?
Chas is in a state of total confusion and fear. She’s not in a great place at all but she’s completely determined to marry Dan… Read more & comment »

Could there be a happy future for new Emmerdale lovers, Dan Spencer and Chas Dingle? Lucy Pargeter thinks so!
Pargeter, who plays unlucky-in-love Chas in the hit ITV soap, has claimed that her character really can see a future in the loveable (if not slightly loser-like) Dan Spencer.

We saw in last night’s visit to Emmerdale that Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) impressed Woolpack landlady Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) when he stood up to Cameron Murray (Dominic Power) and told him to apologise for his rudeness to Chas…
Dan has of course fancied – and had a crush on – Chas for weeks, but hasn’t dared hope that the feeling might be mutual, but surprisingly, his knight in shining armour routine has ignited a wee flame in Chas’s heart that’s set prompt her to propose to him!
As we heard Chas telling Moira (Natalie J Robb) last night – before Dan leapt to her defence during her harsh words with Cameron – she just wants a stable man in her life.
And though of course Moira has no idea that Chas recently had an affair with Cameron, or that he broke Chas’ heart when he chose to stay with Debbie (Charley Webb) her sage advice of “then go and get what you want” struck a chord… Read more & comment »

Emmerdale fans will doubtless be pleased to know that Steve Halliwell has vowed to remain with the show and his role as Zak Dingle, “For as long as they want me.”
Speaking to Inside Soap about his nomination for an award in the magazine’s forthcoming ceremony, Steve began by saying, “I’ll be playing dad Dingle for as long as they want me!
“It’s been great to be one of the Dingles since day one. They’ve made a little bit of television history.
“They’ve also created a lot of jobs for actors because there have been so many of us!”
And of his Inside Soap Award nomination in the category of Best Actor for Zak’s breakdown storyline, Steve said, “It’s lovely – it’s quite a few years since I was nominated for anything… Read more & comment »

As fans of Emmerdale will know, pub landlady Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) has been devastated by the end of her relationship with Cameron Murray (Dominic Power) who of course chose to stay with Chas’s niece Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) rather than flee the village with Chas to start a new life together.
And of course, ever since, Chas has had to grin and bear it when she’s forced to witness loved up Debbie and Cameron together, and she’s tried to hide her heartache by responding to Dan Spencer’s flirting…
Dan is of course Ali Spencer’s (Kelli Hollis) ex, who arrived in the village in order to be nearer to his kids, Sean and Amelia.
When Dan began his flirting with Chas, he didn’t think for a minute she would reciprocate, but when she does, he can’t believe his luck! And in fact, he thinks all his birthdays have come at once when he and Chas sleep together in a forthcoming episode… Read more & comment »
