In wake of her dramatic exit from award-winning ITV soap, Coronation Street, actress Shobna Gulati has been announced as a new panellist on daytime chat show, Loose Women.

Corrie fans will know that Shobna, who had played cheating wife Sunita Alahan in the soap since 2001, is set to have her character killed off in the explosive Rovers Return fire in an upcoming, much-anticipated storyline.

Former Coronation Street and Loose Women star Denise Welch had extra reason to celebrate Valentine’s Day yesterday as her lover Lincoln Townley was given the all clear by medics after it was thought he’d suffered a heart attack.

The drama began when Lincoln collapsed at the couple’s home in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, earlier this week. He was rushed to hospital suffering from chest pain, however, once any heart problems had been ruled out, doctors apparently advised Lincoln to ease up on his exercise regime.

He and Denise have reportedly “been on a health drive” for the past four months ahead of their wedding.

It’s been revealed today that Loose Women star Denise Welch has confessed to being a sex addict, and she added that she and former husband Tim Healy used to have”humdinger” rows, during which she would often attack him.

Denise, who of course formerly starred in Coronation Street and who won January’s series of Celebrity Big Brother, made her confessions during a appearance on Piers Morgan’s show, Life Stories, which was filmed on Tuesday.

During the interview, Denise told Piers, “I like sex. What’s the problem with being a sexaholic? I just like s****ing.”

And Denise, who’s engaged to Lincoln Townley, revealed that her ex Tim would often take her “by surprise” when he wanted sex.

It’s been reported today that Loose Women star Denise Welch has become engaged to her ‘toyboy’ lover Lincoln Townley.

Denise – who formerly starred in Coronation Street and Benidorm alongside former husband Tim Healy – said she is “absolutely thrilled” that she and Lincoln are to tie the knot next July.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Denise said, “I had no idea the proposal was coming.”

A source close to the couple added, “Lincoln knew fairly early on that Denise was ‘the one’ and, over the past few months, they have become inseparable.

“After breaking up from Tim, Denise thought she would never marry again. She never reckoned on falling in love so soon.

Sally Lindsay has of course been a Loose Women panellist for less than a year, however, she’s revealed to the Daily Mirror that she’s going to cut back on the number of days she appears on the show in order to spend more time with her twin boys.

And of course, Sally – who formerly starred in Coronation Street as Shelley Unwin – also stars in Sky1 sitcom Mount Pleasant, so she’s had a busy few months!

Of her decision to take some time out, Sally said, “I want some time off with the boys, so it will be maybe once a week or once every two weeks on Loose Women.”

Loose Women and former Corrie star Denise Welch has vowed to stay off the booze after her lover Lincoln Townley decided to show her just how awful she is while drunk…

The Daily Star claims that fed up Lincoln video taped Denise as she was “drunkenly screaming abuse at him” which it seems was the wake up call she needed to stop drinking.

The paper reports that the incident happened seven weeks ago, and since then, Denise hasn’t touched a drop of booze, and as a result, she’s “feeling better than she has in years.”

A source close to the couple told the paper “Denise has had a hard- partying image for years and everyone knows when she goes on a night out she really goes for it.

As fans of Loose Women may know, panellist Andrea McLean has been branching out into the world of acting for a movie entitled, A Landscape of Lies…

In the film, Andrea plays the role of “sexually liberated therapist Dr Andrea Grey” who finds herself in a steamy clinch with a character who’s played by Hollyoaks star, Christina Baily.

However, during an interview with Closer magazine this week, Andrea revealed that the kiss was so far out of her “comfort zone,” she downed half a bottle of bourbon before filming it!

Former GMTV weather girl Andrea said, “I had to do scenes that took me out of my comfort zone and I loved it.

It seems that comedienne Jenny Éclair has failed to amuse the bosses over at ITV, and her fellow panellists apparently as it’s been reported today that she’s been fired from the show.

The Daily Mirror reports that Loose Women’s producers have declined to renew Jenny’s contract with the show, and she will subsequently film her last edition next month.

Show insiders have revealed that there have been “two distinct camps” behind the scenes of the hit daytime chat show, with Carol McGiffin, Carol Vorderman, Denise Welch, Andrea McLean and former Corrie star Sally Lindsay in one group, while Jenny and Janet Street-Porter are in the other.

That divide apparently came about as a result of an incident around eight months ago which saw Jenny and Janet apologizing for drawing “moustaches and devil horns” on framed photographs of singers Myleene Klass and Katherine Jenkins at the ITV studios in South London… Read more & comment »

Loose Women star Denise Welch caused a bit of a storm in a teacup when she revealed that she was dating ‘toyboy’ Lincoln Townley, having split from her husband, Benidorm star Tim Healy.

However, now, 53 year old Denise has told The Sun that 39 year old Lincoln is “the one” and she’s announced that they’re to marry later this year.

Mclean, who is currently recovering after being stalked by a married man who bombarded her with calls and texts of a sexual nature in order to try and get her to go out with him, plays Dr Andrea Grey in the film Landscape of Lies, in which she is seen kissing both men and women during drunken nights out.

On hit daytime TV show Loose Women, Andrea McLean always has a smile and seems carefree…

However, in today’s Daily Mirror, a friend of Andrea’s has revealed the shocking truth behind that cheery façade as she explained the hell that Andrea’s been living through having been targeted by an obsessed stalker.

Andrea’s confidante explained that the 42 year old presenter – who had just split from second husband Steve Toms when the stalker’s campaign of harassment began – met and “swapped business cards” with a man she met at a social gathering.

Backstage on the set of hit ITV talk show Loose Women, chaos apparently reigns as members of the show’s panel and production staff have been struck down with the painful shingles virus.

Shingles is course linked to chickenpox and the herpes zoster virus, which causes painful rashes that usually run along the length of nerves in the body.

The Daily Mirror reports that panelists Janet Street Porter and Jane McDonald have both been sent home with the disease, and on Wednesday, actress and TV host Claire Sweeney was brought in to make up the numbers.
