Coronation Street has been dealt a huge blow in its plans to move to Salford, as English Heritage have declared that the set of the iconic soap will not be listed and protected, because it’s not historic enough!

The current set of Coronation Street, based near Granada studios, was hoped to be preserved as it is and made into a tourist attraction when the show moves to its new home in Media City in Salford next year.
