Seven Days On The Breadline: Mel B government should do more for the poor

Mel B has admitted that she was shocked by the level of poverty she encountered when she was filming ‘Seven Days On The Breadline’ for ITV1. She also appealed to the government to do more for the poor.

“I hadn’t been told anything about the family I would be looking after or the state of the house I would be living in,” she wrote in the Daily Mail.

Mel B, Trinny Woodall, Austin Healey and Keith Allen for ITV’s 7 Days On The Breadline

Four famous people will step into the shoes of families living on low incomes in recession-hit Britain for a new ITV 1 series.

In the series Mel B, Keith Allen, Trinny Woodall and Austin Healey move into households on housing estates in Leeds, and in some cases even replacing a member of the household.

For seven days, they will try to cope on the budget of the different households they join. Each will engage with common issues important to residents such as community cohesion, identity and the challenges that arise from living on a low income.

Writing on her Twitter, former Spice Girl Mel B said: “It maybe raining in leeds but I still love it!! Started filming my tv show and it’s very very interesting to say the least!”

Former Spice Girl Mel B has been signed as one of ITV’s Loose Women according to The Mirror.

Mel will appear as a guest presenter on the ITV1 daytime chat show for a week starting on September 14.

Mel B: The Black Hannah Montana?

Former Spice Girl and veteran promoter of animal print clothing, Mel B has been talking about her new TV show due to hit our screens sometime next year.

The 33-year-old said: “I’ve written my own sitcom that’s just been picked up by Nickelodeon that I start at Christmas.

“I’m the star of it. It’s a bit like Hannah Montana, but the black version.”

Seriously? Did she say that with a straight face?
