The gorgeous Melanie Sykes has admitted that she would love to replace Fern Britton on This Morning, but has not yet been approached about the job.

Insiders said that Melanie was being considered for the job a few months ago, they even went as far as to describe it as a “one-horse race”.

Speaking to The Mirror, Sykes admitted: “Obviously it would be a great gig. Who wouldn’t want to do it? But I haven’t been approached yet. I would love to work with Phillip [Schofield] though.”

TV presenter, Melanie Sykes has revealed that she once turned down the chance to star opposite Pierce Brosnan as a Bond Girl.

Mel was asked to try out for the role during Brosnan’s last Bond movie but didn’t follow it up as she was in a new relationship at the time.

Melanie told She, on sale on Wednesday: “I didn’t even go to the meeting!

“I’d just started going out with Daniel and I didn’t think it was right for me to be kissing Pierce Brosnan.”

The 38-year-old, who has recently separated from her husband, told the magazine: “I won’t get married again. When I married Daniel I believed it was for life.
