Jennifer Metcalfe, who plays Hollyoaks favourite psychopath, Mercedes McQueen, has admitted that she fears producers will kill her character off!

Fans of the hit Channel 4 soap will know how Mercedes is currently being held in a psychiatric prison following a mental breakdown after staging her own sons kidnapping.

There are dark times ahead in Hollyoaks for Mercedes Fisher, when not only does she discover that serial killer Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle) won’t face trial for his heinous crimes, but she also finds out that love of her life Riley Costello (Rob Norbury) is in a relationship with Lynsey Nolan (Karen Hassan).

Jennifer Metcalfe who of course plays the role of Mercedes – and who’s previously starred in My Parents Are Aliens, Where the Heart Is, At Home with the Braithwaites and Emmerdale – has been talking to the PA about how her character reacts to all the bad news.

She said, “She’s in a bit of a mess [but] she reacts a lot more down that you’d expect her to.

“It’s quite a shock actually for the audience and it was for me to film, it just took a different spin on it.

Because we love bringing you all the latest news, gossip and spoiler, Unreality TV braved the wind and rain to meet the famous faces on the red carpet and catch a few words with the actors, before the even kicked off.

Mercedes Fisher (Jennifer Metcalfe) is to find herself in the murderous hands of Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle) in a new Hollyoaks plot twist.

As viewers will know, the pregnant bride called off her wedding to Riley Costello (Rob Norbury) after confessing that she’d bedded his dad Carl.

She then decided to get away from all the trauma by going on what would have been the couple’s honeymoon alone, but, according to What’s On TV, “She receives a surprise visit in the venue’s honeymoon suite from Riley’s grandfather Silas – who kidnaps her and locks her in a vault.” Read more & comment »

Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe – who plays Mercedes Fisher – has promised viewers that there’s plenty more excitement to come in her character’s storyline.

As fans of the show will know, Mercedes is set to marry Riley Costello (Rob Norbury) next week, but things are tipped to go the way of the pear when Riley learns that Mercedes had had an affair with his dad.
