After this week’s shocking arrest of Coronation Street legend, Bill Roache, the actor has come out to deny the two allegations of rape with a 15 year old girl on the late 1960′s, and vowed to clear his name!
Roache, who has played Street front man Ken Barlow since the hit ITV soap first aired in 1960, was arrested at his Wilmslow, Cheshire home on Wednesday, on two counts of rape, and subsequently charged after questioning.

After yesterday’s shocking arrest of Coronation Street legend, Bill Roache, it has been reported that he has been charged with two counts of raping a 15 year old girl in 1967.
According to the Sun newspaper Roache, who has played Ken Barlow in the award-winning ITV soap since it first began in 1960, has been released on bail and will be written out of the soap whilst the case is open.
Cast members of Corrie are said to be close to tears at the news.

Fans of Coronation Street’s Michael Le Vell will know that he’s currently suspended from the soap pending the outcome of charges of historic sexual abuse against a minor, though it has been reported that the show’s bosses are holding his job on the soap open and expect him to return.
His co-stars have largely remained silent on the matter – which is currently being processed through the courts – however, one or two of them have spoken out in defence of Le Vell, and in today’s Daily Mirror, Kym Lomas has joined those who’ve discussed the issue publicly and has firmly given him her support.

Fans of Coronation Street will of course know that we last saw character Kevin Webster on the show around the time that he helped his mate Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) snatch baby Ruby from her violent mother Kirsty (Natalie Gumede).
And of course, Kevin’s absence from subsequent scenes is due to the fact that actor Michael Le Vell was rearrested on charges relating to allegations of historic sexual offences and was suspended from the soap pending the outcome of legal proceedings.
It had initial been rumoured that in order to explain Kevin’s absence, the show’s writers planned to have him go to prison for his part in helping Tyrone, however, under the circumstances of the real-life drama, that was considered “inappropriate and insensitive.” Read more & comment »

Fans of Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell will surely be aware that he’s currently suspended from the show pending the outcome of charges brought in relation to allegations of historic sexual abuse…
And it has of course been widely reported that Michael – whose real name is Michael Turner – strenuously denies any wrong doing and hopes that he will be exonerated when his case is heard in court later this month.

It’s been reported today that Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell – who of course plays the role of Kevin Webster – has reacted angrily to reports in the media of late that suggested he felt “isolated” and that his Corrie co-stars, and the show’s bosses, had “turned their backs” on him.
The claims, which Michael says are untrue, were made in a tabloid newspaper which quoted a supposed friend of Michael’s who suggested that the actor feared his career on Coronation Street was over, even if he’s eventually acquitted of the charges of historic sexual abuse that he currently faces.
The Daily Star reports that the star’s lawyers are now “keeping a close eye” on the speculation about Michael and his job with ITV.

Fans of Coronation Street will no doubt be aware that actor Michael Le Vell, who plays mechanic Kevin Webster on the show, has been suspended from the soap pending the outcome of charges of historic sexual abuse against a minor.
They are allegations that Michael, whose real name is Michael Turner, strenuously denies, and he has vowed to clear his name, however, the Mirror today reports that even if that happens and he is exonerated, his career in TV and specifically on Corrie, could be over.
The paper adds, “As he awaits his next court appearance later this month after being freed on bail at an earlier hearing, the stressed-out actor who shot to fame after joining the soap in 1983 poured out his heart to a friend.” Read more & comment »

Coronation Street veteran, Kevin Kennedy, is set to return to the cobbles of Weatherfield in wake of his former on-screen best friend, Kevin Webster, being written out of the show.
Fans of the award-winning ITV soap will know how Michael Le Vell, who has played Kevin Webster for the past 30 years, was written out of the soap with immediate effect after he was arrested and charged with 19 counts of child sex offences last month.

Shamed Coronation Street star, Michael Le Vell, has appeared in court for the first day of his hearing in connection with the 19 counts of child sex offences he has been formally charged with.
Le Vell, who has played mechanic Kevin Webster in the award-winning ITV soap for over 30 years, was originally arrested on one child sex allegation in 2011, but the case was dropped last year due to lack of evidence.

Shamed Coronation Street star, Michael Le Vell, is reportedly feeling abandoned by his Corrie co-stars after none of them have come out to support him during his recent child sex allegations claims, according to the Mirror newspaper.
Le Vell, who played mechanic Kevin Webster in the hit ITV soap, was reportedly dropped from the show after recently being charged with 19 offences regarding child sex claims.
And, unlike the last time he faced serious allegations of a similar nature, his former cast mates have kept schtum leaving Le Vell feeling “depressed and isolated” that none of them have come forward publicly to support him.

As we reported last week, Coronation Street actor Michael Le Vell has been charged with 19 counts of sexual offences against a child, and following his re-arrest – he was previously arrested then subsequently cleared after the CPS dropped the charges – the soap’s bosses announced he’d been suspended from the show pending the outcome of the case.
Over the weekend, it’s been reported that Michael’s absence from the show could be explained by having his Corrie character Kevin Webster imprisoned over charges relating to his helping Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) to snatch baby Ruby in a recent storyline.

ITV have revealed that they are dropping Michael Le Vell from any further episodes of Coronation Street, until legal proceedings against him are concluded.
The actor who is a long running star of the British soap opera has played mechanic Kevin Webster for decades but it was revealed this morning that Le Vell, real name is Michael Turner, has been accused and charged with a plethora of sex offences including rape, sexual assault and child abuse.

There’s terrible news today from the Coronation Street camp in that actor Michael Le Vell, who plays mechanic Kevin Webster on the soap, has been charged with a total of 19 sexual offences, which include allegations of child rape.
Le Vell, whose real name is Michael Turner, was originally arrested back in September 2011, however he wasn’t charged as police and the CPS didn’t sufficient evidence to bring about a prosecution.
But today, The Sun reports that Michael was “asked to attend” Pendleton police station in Salford, Greater Manchester, yesterday by detectives investigating allegations of child sex abuse that span a nine-year period. Read more & comment »

Coronation Street star, Michael Le Vell, has admitted to getting into a pub row during a recent trip to Australia where he threatened to bite someone’s nose off!
The actor, who plays Kevin Webster in the award-winning soap, took to social networking site, Facebook, to voice his remorse at the situation posting: “Apparently I said I would bite someone’s nose off. If anyone can cock up big style… ”

As fans of Corrie will know, poor Sophie Webster is facing months of recovery after she was knocked down by a car earlier this week, having shoved reckless Ryan Connor (Sol Heras) out of the path of the oncoming car.
Having been told that she may never walk again, Sophie (Brooke Vincent) will have to undergo long-term physiotherapy to mobilize her again, and it’ll transpire that her physiotherapist is Lloyd Mullaney’s newly found daughter, Jenna Kamara (Krissi Bohn).
And according to the Daily Star, not only will Sophie fall for Jenna – and Jenna for her – but so will her dad Kevin (Michael Le Vell) who will of course accompany Sophie to her physio sessions.
