Jessie J, Keith Lemon, Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr and Michael McIntyre for Channel 4′s Comedy Gala

Channel 4 will once again air a massive star-studded Comedy Gala next month, featuring a whole host of top comedy talent from around the world.

Channel 4′s Comedy Gala will be a spectacular two and a half hour-long show to air in May and will take place a London’s 02 Arena in front of a massive 14,00 strong audience of enthusiastic spectators, waiting to be tickled pink by the likes of Lee Evans, Alan Carr, Michael McIntyre, Jonathan Ross, Keith Lemon, Paddy McGuiness, Micky Flanagan, Sean Lock, Kevin Bridges, Jo Brand, Jack Whitehall, Jack Dee, Jon Richardson and Lee Nelson, with yet more acts still to be announced. Combined they will make it the biggest live stand up show in UK history.

Michael McIntyre to host Christmas Day comedy special

Former Britain’s Got Talent judge Michael McIntyre has landed his own Christmas Day comedy show on the BBC.

The Daily Mirror states that the show will be “an extended version” of Michael’s Comedy Roadshow series, with some added BGT-style variety.

BBC1 boss Danny Cohen is reportedly hoping McIntyre can land some big name friends to star on the show.

Michael said of the showk “It’s going to be really big and because it’s Christmas, we’re going to get some great names. I’m in talks with people right now.”

It’s expected that the show fill the 10pm slot on the BBC Christmas Day schedule which also includes Doctor Who, Great Expectations, a Strictly special and two episodes of EastEnders. Read more & comment »

Michael McIntyre won’t go to America!

Michael McIntyre has admitted that he has no inclination to crack America.

The TV funnyman, who fronted last week’s Royal Variety Performance told Metro that it took him too long to get established in the UK and he doesn’t want to start again.

“I’m not going to crack America,” he told the newspaper. “I’m staying, sorry. It’s taken me long enough to sort things out here and I don’t want to start again somewhere else.”

Michael McIntyre to host Royal Variety Performance 2010

The BBC announced today that Michael McIntyre will host the 2010 Royal Variety Performance in the presence of HRH The Prince of Wales. The show will transmit on BBC One this December.

Michael began his stand-up career in 1999 and now hosts BBC One’s primetime Saturday night award-winning Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, which will return later this year for a second series.

Michael McIntyre doesn’t want Jonathan Ross’ show

The BBC have been left up the creek without a paddle, after comedian Michael McIntyre reportedly turned down the chance to take over Jonathan Ross’ Friday night chat show.

Last week Jonathan revealed that he will be leaving the Beeb this July and Michael was favourite to take over his slot after Graham Norton was snubbed.

Michael McIntyre or Chris Evans to take over from Jonathan Ross

Sources suggest that comedian Michael McIntyre and Radio Two presenter Chris Evans are the new favourites to take over from Jonathan Ross on the BBC.

Last week, Ross revealed that he was leaving the channel, though sources later claimed that he was pushed out by BBC bosses.

Michael McIntyre signs £1 million book deal

Michael McIntyre has reportedly signed a £1 million book deal with Penguin.

McIntyre book will be in an autobiographical style and will include details of his showbiz childhood. McIntyre’s mum was a professional dancer, while his dad was a writer on The Kenny Everett Show.

Add to this the fact that he has also landed a second series of his Comedy Roadshow on the BBC and its been a pretty good week for Michael.

Michael McIntyre Has No Unique Selling Point

BBC funny man Michael McIntyre has admitted that his jokes are in no way unique.

McIntyre told thelondonpaper that after an audience member asked what his unique selling point was, he couldn’t come up with a thing.

McIntyre said: “Someone in Chiswick shouted out, ‘What’s your unique selling point?’ It really troubled me.

Sell-out stand-up comedian Michael McIntyre is to host a brand new series for BBC One where he takes to the road visiting well-known venues around the UK, showcasing the very best in stand-up.

Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow will feature both up and coming stand-up acts as well as established artists who will headline each show.

The series of six half hours will be hosted by Michael from venues in Edinburgh, Belfast, Manchester, Cardiff, Brighton and Newcastle.
