Former Britain’s Got Talent judge Michael McIntyre has landed his own Christmas Day comedy show on the BBC.
The Daily Mirror states that the show will be “an extended version” of Michael’s Comedy Roadshow series, with some added BGT-style variety.
BBC1 boss Danny Cohen is reportedly hoping McIntyre can land some big name friends to star on the show.
Michael said of the showk “It’s going to be really big and because it’s Christmas, we’re going to get some great names. I’m in talks with people right now.”
It’s expected that the show fill the 10pm slot on the BBC Christmas Day schedule which also includes Doctor Who, Great Expectations, a Strictly special and two episodes of EastEnders. Read more & comment »
Michael McIntyre seems to have come from nowhere to suddenly being everywhere, and thank God he is!
He’s without doubt one of the funniest men I’ve ever watched and his addition to the Saturday night line up on TV is very welcome because, let’s face it, Saturday night viewing is inordinately light on laughs.
