Fans of Coronation Street’s Michael Le Vell will know that he’s currently suspended from the soap pending the outcome of charges of historic sexual abuse against a minor, though it has been reported that the show’s bosses are holding his job on the soap open and expect him to return.

His co-stars have largely remained silent on the matter – which is currently being processed through the courts – however, one or two of them have spoken out in defence of Le Vell, and in today’s Daily Mirror, Kym Lomas has joined those who’ve discussed the issue publicly and has firmly given him her support.

It’s been reported over the weekend that Corrie star Kym Lomas has not only been offered a “mega bucks” deal to stay with the soap, but also that her character Michelle Connor is set to become the new landlady of the Street’s iconic pub, The Rovers Return.

The pub has of course been decimated by the fire – which was started by Karl Munro – and in the coming weeks, Karl (John Michie) is going to get closer to his dream of reuniting with Stella Price (Michelle Collins) after he saved her life by running into the burning put to drag her to safety.

And as we reported recently, an upcoming cliffhanger is set to feature Karl and Stella reuniting and planning to wed, but the big question will be whether Stella will find out that Karl set the fire before she walks down the aisle!

New Coronation Street producer, Stuart Blackburn, has revealed some details regarding some of the shows most loved characters including Roy and Hayley Cropper, Peter Barlow and Carla Connor, David and Kylie Platt, Tracey Barlow as well as a huge hint about one person who was rumoured to be perishing in the great Rovers Return fire, Stella Price!

As fans of the award-winning soap will know, Stuart Blackburn took over from Phil Collinson at the beginning of this year after his stint at ITV rival soap Emmerdale, and has already ruffled a few feathers with his drastic action plans with regards to the current cast.

Fans of Coronation Street will know that Michelle Keegan – who of course plays Tina McIntyre – has several times beaten off all competition in the Sexiest Female categories of soap awards to walk away with the gong, yet apparently, she doesn’t think she’s at all sexy!

However, as readers of FHM magazine will see in the latest issue, Michelle proved that she most definitely is gorgeous as she posed for a photo shoot.

But modest Michelle, who’s currently dating former The Only Way Is Essex star Mark Wright, told the magazine, “It’s really flattering, and even now when I win an award like that, it’s just unbelievable, because I think, ‘What the hell do they see?’ because I’m not like your typical sexy girl…

As we reported recently, Corrie’s iconic pub The Rover Return is set to be decimated in a fire later this year which will leave Sunita Alahan (Shobna Gulati) dead in the burned out wreckage.

However, it’s been revealed today that when the pub’s rebuilt, it’ll be “bigger and better” and will end up being run by Michelle Connor (Kym Lomas) who of course formerly ran the pub with her lover Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) when he owned it.

The rebuilt pub will of course be at the show’s new studios in Salford, and of the restructuring, a show insider told TV Biz, “The Rovers will be rebuilt on a bigger scale – the plans show it with two upstairs windows, instead of the one it has now.

Fans of Corrie may recall that before Christmas, we reported that one of the show’s forthcoming storylines would feature former factory boss Rob Donovan embarking on a relationship with Tracy Love Barlow (Kate Ford) early this year.

However, while speaking to the Radio Times about the plotline, Marc Baylis, who of course plays scheming ex-con Rob, revealed that it’s actually Michelle Connor (Kym Lomas) who his character really wants!

Pictures in today’s Sun newspaper show Alison, who plays home-wrecker Carla Connor in the hit ITV1 soap, looking rather glam in a black and gold prom-style dress, puckering up to Kym, who plays factory PA Michelle in the show and who has recently married her long-term ex Hollyoaks partner, Jamie Lomas, looked equally fabulous in a curve clinging low-cut black body con dress.

In forthcoming episodes of Coronation Street, Steve McDonald and Eva Price are about to discover that a paranoia shared is a paranoia doubled as they suspect that their respective other halves are having an affair…

Steve (Simon Gregson) is of course dating Michelle Connor (Kym Lomas) and Eva (Catherine Tyldesley) is about to be reunited with Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) and though she’s lost a lover before to jealous suspicion – that lover being Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) who ditched Eva after she wrongly accused him of cheating on her – Eva’s evidently not learned any lessons.

That becomes apparent when Michelle and Rob head off on a business trip together, and when Steve and Eva get talking about it, they suspect that the pair are in fact having a dirty weekend away together.

There’s a good deal of drama going on in Coronation Street resident Michelle Connor’s life at the moment, what with Ryan and Tracy more together than ever now that she’s expecting his baby…

However, things are set to get a good deal more dramatic when, next week, Michelle’s dumped by Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) after he hatches a plan to win the mind games war that he and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) are pretty much permanently engaged in!

He thinks that he can make Tracy leave Ryan (Sol Heras) – and get out of his life for good – if he makes her believe they can get back together. So of course, he needs to be seen to be splitting from Michelle.

In a forthcoming episode of Corrie, poor old Kirk Sutherland – he of the tiny brain but big heart – will find himself on the receiving end of a punch in the face, thanks to Beth Tinker!

The storyline begins when chivalrous Kirk (Andy Whyment) sticks up for Beth (Lisa George) when she throws a pint over a particularly obnoxious pub goer…

However, his knight in shining armour routine gets him a shiner as the bloke lamps him, flooring the poor knicker packer.
