Mistresses Returns To BBC One For Final Series

Sarah Parish, Sharon Small, Orla Brady and Shelley Conn are back with a brand new series of Ecosse Films’ hit series, Mistresses, Jay Hunt announced today at the BBC One Autumn launch.

The BBC has commissioned a third and final outing of the popular drama that follows four friends supporting each other through the complexities of life.

Sarah Parish: “Our heartbreak at losing our Ella-Jayne”

Mistresses star Sarah Parish and her husband James Murray have been speaking to The Sun about the tragic death of her baby girl, Ella-Jayen who died in January.

Ella-Jayne was born with a hole in her heart and despite this being a condition that can often be treated successfully, Ella failed to recover fully from two emergency operations. She died aged just eight months.

Sarah, who’s 41, told the newspaper, “It is terrifying when you have a baby and she is taken away ill.

“You were expecting cards and balloons and suddenly you are dropped into a nightmare…” Read more & comment »

Mistresses began series two last night on BBC… and I loved it!

The first of the six-part series two of Mistresses was, like Mary Poppins, practically perfect in every way! But Mary Poppins would’ve had to be sectioned had she been part of the circle of four friends around whom the storyline centres; she’s have gone crazy had she witnessed the sex, deceit, betrayals and downright epically good fun/drama that it was.

One of the most talked about dramas of 2008, BBC One’s hit Mistresses, from Ecosse Films, has been recommissioned for a second series it was announced today.

Mistresses follows the lives of four 30-something friends and their quest for true love, returning with lead actors Sarah Parish, Sharon Small, Orla Brady and Shelley Conn reprising their respective roles as loyal and steadfast doctor Katie, struggling single mum Trudi, high flying solicitor Siobhan and fun loving events organiser Jessica.

The men in the Mistresses’ lives are also back: Siobhan’s devoted husband Hari (Raza Jaffrey) and her former lover and father of her unborn child, Dominic (Adam Rayner), Trudi’s on/off boyfriend Richard (Patrick Baladi) and Jessica’s occasional shag and boss Simon (Adam Astill).
