It’s been reported today that former EastEnders star Samantha Womack has joined the cast of Sky Living comedy, Mount Pleasant, and will feature in the show’s third series.
Samantha, who of course played the role of Ronnie Branning on EastEnders, told Click Liverpool that she’s about to start filming for the show, which stars former Coronation Street actress Sally Lindsay as well as Daniel Ryan, Bobby Ball and Angela Griffin.
She said, “I begin filming Mount Pleasant for TV alongside Pauline Collins [Sue] in Manchester soon.” Read more & comment »

Former Emmerdale actress Sian Reeves has said she could quite fancy a role on the cobbles of Coronation Street.
Reeves, who is currently starring in Sky Living’s Mount Pleasant, played stalker Sally Spode who set her sights on the village vicar, Ashley Thomas (John Middleton in the Dales, and was the person behind the fire that nearly cost Ashley’s wife, Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) her life when she locked her in the church before setting fire to it back in 2009.

Sally Lindsay has of course been a Loose Women panellist for less than a year, however, she’s revealed to the Daily Mirror that she’s going to cut back on the number of days she appears on the show in order to spend more time with her twin boys.
And of course, Sally – who formerly starred in Coronation Street as Shelley Unwin – also stars in Sky1 sitcom Mount Pleasant, so she’s had a busy few months!
Of her decision to take some time out, Sally said, “I want some time off with the boys, so it will be maybe once a week or once every two weeks on Loose Women.”

Sky has announced that production for series two of hit sitcom Mount Pleasant is well under way, and they also revealed that there are two additions to the cast in the form of actor and singer Robson Green, and Britain’s Got Talent star, George Sampson.
Former Corrie actress Sally Lindsay is set to return in the second series – in her role as Lisa – as are Bobby Ball, Pauline Collins, Angela Griffin, Paula Wilcox, Sian Reeves, Adrian Bower, Neil Fitzmaurice, Owen McDonnell and Ainsley Howard.
It’s expected that series two will be comprised of nine hour-long episodes, and a Christmas special.
Robson – who first shot to fame while starring in Casualty – is set to play the role of new neighbour Chris, who develops a ‘friendship’ with the sex mad Bianca (Sian Reeves), while George will play Bianca’s step son Gary, who comes to stay when his mother goes to Australia without him… Read more & comment »

Sally Lindsay, who’s starring in new Sky1 sitcom Mount Pleasant, has revealed that although she hasn’t starred in Coronation Street since 2006, people still relate to her as her Weatherfield character, Shelley Unwin.
During her time on the Street, Sally played out a number of big storylines as Shelley, including the dramatic plotline in which her fiancé Charlie Stubbs (Bill Ward) emotionally and physically abused her until Shelley ditched him at the altar.
