As fans of Corrie saw in last week’s dramatic courtroom scenes, wicked Kirsty Soames finally admitted she’d lied about Tyrone Dobbs being violent towards her, and she further confessed that she feared she might hurt her baby daughter Ruby…
So the nation heaved a sigh of relief when not only was poor Tyrone (Alan Halsall) released and all charges against him dropped, but he and girlfriend Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) got to walk off into the sunset – which was actually the glow from a local crem – together and with little Ruby safely in their care.
However, Natalie Gumede, who of course plays Kirsty – and who was last seen being bundled into a prison van – has warned that Tyrone and Fiz may not get the happy ever after they’re longing for with the words, “I’ll be back!” Read more & comment »

Coronation Street viewers will of course know that wicked Kirsty Soames put her former fiancé Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) through hell for months with her vicious temper and subsequent beatings…
And as if that wasn’t enough, Kirsty then turned the tables and accused Tyrone of battering her, which has of course landed him in prison on remand awaiting his trial, which is set to air in the first week of April.
However, as the show’s bosses have filmed two endings to the storyline, one of which depicts Tyrone going to prison for a crime he didn’t commit while the other features Kirsty getting her comeuppance at last, we viewers won’t know for sure how it’s going to end until it actually airs… Read more & comment »

Departing Coronation Street actress, Natalie Gumede, has revealed that since leaving the show in which she portrayed a brutal boyfriend-Basher she would now like to show the nation a more fun side to her, possibly on BBC dancing talent show Strictly Come Dancing!
Fans of the award-winning ITV show will know how Natalie’s character, Kirsty Soames, has been in embroiled in a huge domestic violence plot with her on-screen partner, Tyrone Dobbs played by Alan Halsall.

Next week’s episodes of Corrie are of course primarily focusing on the big Rovers fire, however, it’s not the only drama playing out on the nation’s favourite street…
And in particular, the Kirsty Soames (Natalie Gumede) drama takes a sinister twist when the stressed and short tempered ex-cop loses patience with her baby daughter Ruby when the infant won’t stop crying.
As we’ll see on Monday, March 18th, Kirsty’s so stressed out by the constant crying that in desperation, she lies to Julie Carp (Katy Cavanagh) telling her that she needs to go round to her mother’s and asking if Julie will babysit Ruby.

Coronation Street stars all paid homage to two of its finest actresses who filmed their final scenes on set yesterday, Shobna Gulati and Natalie Gumede.
Fans of the award-winning ITV soap will know how both actresses’ departures were announced earlier this year, and yesterday saw Natalie Gumede who plays violent Kirsty Soames and Shobna Gulati who plays Sunita Alahan film their final scene.

It would appear that Coronation Street fans all over the country may get the happy ending they have been praying for in the current domestic violence storyline as Natalie Gumede has revealed that she is quitting her role as Kirsty Soames!

It’s been revealed today that Coronation Street bosses have filmed two endings for the climax to the Kirsty Soames and Tyrone Dobbs storyline…
One ending will feature Tyrone (Alan Halsall) going to prison, having been found guilty of child abduction and of battering Kirsty, while the other shows wicked Kirsty (Natalie Gumede) getting her comeuppance and being imprisoned when her lies are exposed!
As fans will know, Tyrone is of course innocent of the charges of domestic violence, because it has in fact been Kirsty who’s been battering him…
However, as we saw in last night’s double-bill of episodes, Tyrone’s lover Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) put him on the road to prison by tipping off the police as to their whereabouts. Read more & comment »

Fans of Coronation Street will know that for months now, the soap has been highlighting the often taboo issue of men being the subject of domestic violence in their Kirsty Soames and Tyrone Dobbs storyline.
However, it’s been revealed that as the plotline continues, calls to a national helpline for male victims of domestic violence have trebled to around 30 a day.
Mark Brooks, chairman of the ManKind Initiative, told the Daily Star that he’s grateful to the soap for giving beaten British men “the confidence to speak out.”

It’s been revealed today that in a not unexpected revamp of the show, new producer Stuart Blackburn has axed characters Lewis Archer and Kirsty Soames…
Blackburn took over the role of producer from Phil Collinson just a matter of weeks ago, and as we reported recently, Blackburn intended to speak to each and every cast member about their role on the show.
And Corrie star Jack P Shepherd, who of course plays David Platt, had remarked late last year that the cast were in fear of “grim reaper” Blackburn and were nervous about which of the stars could be axed when he became producer.
And according to the Mirror today, the first of those to go are Nigel Havers and Natalie Gumede who play the roles of conman Lewis Archer and nutty mum Kirsty Soames respectively. Read more & comment »

If you watched last night’s National Television Awards, you’ll know that Corrie star Alan Halsall walked away with a well deserved gong, having beaten off stiff competition in the category for Best Serial Drama Performance for his portrayal of domestic violence victim, Tyrone Dobbs…
And during a behind-the-scenes chat with reporters at last night’s glittering awards ceremony in London, Alan spoke about the domestic violence storyline, and his hope that Tyrone’s mad and now ex-fiancé Kirsty won’t be killed off when the drama reaches its climax.

Fans of Coronation Street will know that one of the most gripping storylines right now is that of Kirsty Soames and Tyrone Dobbs, who – as viewers saw on Monday – should’ve been married by now…
But of course, Kirsty ditched Tyrone at the altar after revealing to the assembled throng of wedding guests that he’s been having an affair with Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine).
And in upcoming episodes, Kirsty is going to tell police that Tyrone beats her, which is of course entirely untrue – she’s the one who’s been attacking him – but in light of the revelation of Tyrone’s affair and Kirsty’s accusation, many of the Street’s residents will turn against Ty and Fiz…

Fans of Coronation Street will of course know that Kirsty Soames is violent and abusive towards her fiancé Tyrone Dobbs, and he is currently planning to marry her only with the intention of being sure he can then have legal rights over their baby daughter Ruby…
And of course, Tyrone (Alan Halsall) is having an affair with his neighbour and former girlfriend Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) who he intends to be with permanently once he’s got rid of Kirsty (Natalie Gumede).

As fans of Coronation Street will surely know, there’s a lot of drama headed our way over Christmas, what with David and Kylie Platt’s marriage falling apart, Nick Tilsley and Leanne Barlow supposedly just starting their married life, and Tyrone Dobbs and Fiz Stape risking life and limb by embarking on affair!
And in an interview for the show’s official website, cast members Jane Danson, Jack P Shepherd, Alan Halsall and Natalie Gumede have hinted at what we can expect of their Christmas Day plotlines.
Starting with Jane, who of course plays Leanne, she said, “The question is, will she get married and who will she marry?”
