This week, I had the pleasure of meeting Emmerdale star Natalie J Robb – who of course plays the role of Moira Barton – at the show’s studios in Leeds, and over lunch, we had a chat about what lies ahead for her character and her character’s lover, Cain Dingle, who’s played by Jeff Hordley.

First, I asked, “Is there any chance Cain and Moira will be walking down the aisle in the near future?

Natalie replied, “Well I don’t know about it if there is, so I can’t comment on that, but I can tell you there’s some turmoil coming up for them!

Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle has – until recently – always been a bad lad who’s constantly on the lookout for mischief and who never shies away from a fight…

However, since the infamous Judgement Day attack, which saw Cain left fighting for his life after his own dad Zak (Steve Halliwell) beat him nearly to death, Cain has been changing. He’s mellowed out considerably, and has become a caring dad to his daughter Debbie (Charley Webb) and an even more caring granddad to her poorly daughter Sarah.

He’s even struck up a truce with his ex, Charity Sharma (Emma Atkins) for the sake of their daughter, and he’s forgiven his dad for attacking him!

And as Jeff Hordley – who of course plays Cain – has revealed in an interview with the Mirror, when his character reignites his romance with Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) his thoughts turn to settling down and making a long-term partner of Mucky Moira… Read more & comment »

Emmerdale favourite bad boy, Jeff Hordley has admitted that he would be interested to see his character, Cain Dingle, fall for Moira Barton properly!

But apparently, Moira – who’s been dubbed Mucky Moira on set for her bedroom antics, which have included bedding farmhand Alex (Kurtis Stacey) – learns slower than earth worms because she’s about to reignite her passion for village bad lad Cain.

When news of the affair went public last year, Moira was of course vilified in the village, and her own children shunned her for months, refusing even to see her on Christmas Day!

So you’d think perhaps it would be somewhat unwise for Moira (Natalie J Robb) to reopen that can of worms, but on Bonfire night, that’s precisely what she’s going to do when Cain (Jeff Hordley) kisses her, and initially, she can’t help but respond…

However, as the enormity of what she’s doing strikes her, Moira pulls away, disgusted with herself for revisiting her passion with Cain.

However, when Victoria (Isobel Hodgins) smells a rat and accuses Alex (Kurtis Stacey) of having another woman, his guilt laden denials tell her all she needs to know.

The drama begins when Andy – who is of course Victoria’s brother – walks in on Moira (Natalie J Robb) and Alex sharing a passionate kiss.

And up until now, they’ve managed to keep it a secret from everyone, including of course Moira’s son Adam (Adam Thomas) who is Alex’s best mate!

However, their grubby little secret is about to be exposed when Andy Sudgen walks into the farm and sees Moira (Natalie J Robb) and Alex (Kurtis Stacey) kissing.

And unsurprisingly, given that Alex has been dating his sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) Andy is not best pleased.

And of course, it’s not the first time that man eater Moira has flung off her overalls and wellies with gay abandon for a man, given that she had an affair with village bad lad Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) which led to the breakdown of her marriage to the now deceased John Barton (James Thornton).

While speaking to Inside Soap about her upcoming storylines, Natalie J Robb, who of course plays Moira, revealed that not only do fans call her “Mucky Moira”, so does her boss!

Emmerdale stars Kurtis Stacey and Natalie J Robb have both been discussing their characters’ forthcoming steamy age-gap affair – they of course play the roles of Alex Moss and Moira Barton – and how it’s thwarted by the return to the village of Moira’s son Adam, who is of course also Alex’s best mate.

Starting with Kurtis, he told the PA that although his character Alex is 16 years younger than Moira, he doesn’t think anything of the age gap.

He said, “I don’t believe it’s a cougar situation. I believe they actually like each other.

“Alex isn’t looking at her age, he’s not even thinking about that. He’s just thinking ‘I like this woman. Oh, she likes me!’

“And then when they get it on age wasn’t even a factor. It was just something that was there.

“It was just pure attraction. It’s not about age, it’s not a fantasy for Alex…” Read more & comment »

As fans of Emmerdale will know, there’s been some simmering sexual tension between widow Moira Barton and farm hand Alex Moss for a couple of weeks now…

He keeps stripping off in Moira’s vicinity, and she keeps trying – but failing – not to look, given that at sixteen years older than him, she’s old enough to be his mother!

But the fact is, Moira is evidently a woman with some strong carnal needs, because let’s not forget that she bedded Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) when her husband John was too tired from running the new farm business to pay any attention to her in the bedroom!

Emmerdale bosses are having to pay out a reported £28,000 to repair damages that a stunt on the show caused to the countryside it was shot on.

The stunt was the dramatic car crash involving John and Moira Barton earlier this year, which won the Spectacular Scene Of The Year Award at the British Soap Awards in April, which was filmed in a famous Yorkshire beauty spot.

Last night saw the 13^th annual British Soap Awards and all the stars braved the wind and rain to take their seats for the spectacular event, held at the ITV studios in London, where UnrealityTV were on the red carpet to speak to them all before the ceremony began.

Thursday night sees tragedy strike the village as John and Moira Barton have an horrific car crash…

And the outcome is made all the more tragic given that the couple are due to try to put their shattered marriage back together just days ahead of the crash.

As fans of the show will know, last night, Moira (Natalie J Robb) told John (James Thornton) that she would agree to a divorce, and that she’d given up fighting for their marriage…

However, when John sits back and takes in what Moira told him, he will suddenly realize that he doesn’t want a divorce at all, and he vows to give their relationship another try.

And of course, the Barton kids are delighted that their parents are back together, and to celebrate, they book their mum and dad on a romantic hotel break, which is where John and Moira are headed when the accident happens. Read more & comment »

ITV have just updated Emmerdale’s official website with a host of new pictures and a video clip that show what could be poor John Barton’s last moments alive as he and newly reconciled wife Moira are in an horrific crash…
